Is there such a thing as excessive nerfing?

Wow what a thread.... Just bought a new XP1000 and am thinking of racing it. I have raced in other classes and Nerfing has been mostly accecpted, some like it others don't. I agree and do feel that its probably a NOT a very good Idea to have a UTV nerfed by some of the much larger cars.

This brings a memerory back to me of racing my TT at a Whiplash Loop race, a friend of mine also raced that day but in a smaller 7s truck. We were forturnate enough for two things, 1) we Shared primary radio Freq. 2) we had a plan that when I finaly caught him we would radio him, we did and the pass didn't hurt either of us.

Why mention this????? with all the new digital radio stuff happening why couldn't there be a short distance transmit/recieve channel put into the radio systems? talk to the car in front.

Also has anyone thought of the use a the Rear Bumper Sensors on vehicles and connect them to a light on the dash? Have know idea of the true range of practicality of either idea....all I know is I like to pass, its what makes racing so fun. Some may recall BJ Balwins experince with the Sentinal system at Dakar.
I feel if they know your there and chose not to move.....move them yourself.

To the Cognito Drivers, wow what Patience, or so it seems. maybe you both were running as hard as the cars would go. Being the back seat VIDEO Driver, looks like at times your car had more to give, but just no way around.

To George Felix; glad to see some one take up the whole issue......and with the current rules...seem very clear. But the UTV group has definetly move the sport to full Professional.....with that said, are you guys out for a trail or Porker run? Or here to Race?

DT
BITD does has a sentinel system going in place in 2016 but in my previous experiences, it wasn't completely effective.

As for my patience at V2R, I wasn't out to nerf anyone. I simply was down on time and needed to start making up time I had lost out on early in the race. Justin and I drive smart and know when to push hard. We've been together for years in the car and raced thousands of miles together. I knew I had to make up time and I wanted to get to the front. 545 miles came down to minutes. Just like every race does.

This video shows the race pace. If your not running this pace, please move over. Hahahahahaha, Rainbow Justin was flying.

Rusty........Rainbow Justin? I knew references from his parading around during that pit stop would leak out sooner or later. LOL!

Hey Justin, not to be me or anything, but whats up with the excessive positive camber on the passenger front wheel? Are you running a twin I-beam in that thing or what? Lol
I noticed it :42 seconds deep in contingency, then I really noticed it at 3:48 when the passenger tire tucked in (or rolled over, if you will) during that hard left "berm", upsetting the balance of your car. I know you know this, but a 1/2 of a degree of negative static camber would make your car much more stable in corners like this where rapid weight transfer is evident.
I know, you won. Yada, yada, yada! Congratulations on that, but a couple of MPH more in that corner, and you'd possibly be singing a different tune.

On a side note, I've got nothing against your aggressive driving habits. No need to defend them. It is what it is. It's racing people. Time is of the essence, and there should be a sense of urgency. From flag to flag. Always. I could see whining a few years ago, when they were entry level golf carts, with a pool of lesser experienced drivers. Now, they have matured into true racing machines, with real racing drivers. These cars are BADASS!

I am sure you are aware that camber angle changes thru the suspension cycle. If you notice in contingency, the car is sitting higher than real ride height, as the car is missing well over 400 lbs of man. At real ride height, the front tires have 1/2 to 1 degree of negative camber.

In the corner, we simply overshot the corner, the tires drooped out and you see the camber change again. Thx tho.

Gosh where was all the 'excessive' nerfing?

**Crickets** just as expected

"...here it is again page 13 under Infractions and Penaties.
F. Minor nerfing: One position.
G. Major nerfing: Disqualification
Don't shoot the messenger I didn't write the rule.."

Nerf somebody 'period'???...do the math (in terms of the podium).
JoeyD said it best in this thread:
"..Kent Kroeker is not only a good friend. He is my hero and nerfing expert level 1000.."

Bottom line: Nobody but the guy who bothered to post the rules that this class 'supposedly' follows..believes that legitimate championships are indeed built around the rules.

JaggedX promised to post the results (here) of what all racers (supposedly) believed to be the #1 threat to the 1900 class and even their individual futures in desert racing. In response, all decided (besides one participant who wanted to see the comments posted and simply had the guts to say so) to 'forget' that this had ever been promised or that racer's comments meant absolutely anything to the racers themselves.

Next, JoeyD basically claimed that every single racer is indeed responsible for whatever you receive in this class as (obviously) not a single racer is currently willing to fight for (again) whatever it is that the majority of participants truly believe in (nerfing included).

"**Crickets**" indeed...

Thank you for finally posting each racer's commentary form for the 1900 class that was passed out for all racers to fill out and which was promised here earlier.

Now...can we finally see the results?...or isn't the above exactly what Joey told all of you guys who refused to simply speak up...on anything? (again, including being disqualified or docked a position for nerfing to force a legitimatization of the championship race).

Even the guy who made this post claims to have nerfed some one in the Baja 500

I can't even follow what that guy says, so many quotes and parenthesis and periods and bull crap

Prediction: Whoever wins the championship this year (and I sincerely hope that nobody is maimed/killed attempting to do so in consideration of how the rules have been blatantly highlighted) WON'T be anyone who has promoted or even so much as publicly discussed the breaking of this rule and/or the tactic itself.

Again, I believe that this discussion (or 'lack thereof' as exhibited here) is going to come back and haunt the sport (someday) very soon.

If the class wants to race this way, then for heaven's sake, act like men and fight for changing the rules (if this is even legally possible) or live by them. If you're afraid to fight(?)..then for the sake of surviving family members..at least try and convince them (now) that the class itself (acting independently) did something of consequence to recognize/fix the inevitable/racer expectations well before you're all suddenly obliged to console them.

By simply ignoring the inevitable, thumbing your noses at the organizers and literally threatening each other with this tactic?...somebody (someday) is going to be asking every single racer in the 1900 class what this thread was indeed really all about.

Just the fact you have been asked by 4 or 5 guys "who you are" and you refuse to answer that questions shows you have an agenda. If you were just a concerned citizen there is no reason not to introduce yourself. Not one. But you continue to add fuel to a fire while you have no dog in the fight so it makes the fact you wanna just stir the pot all the more suspect of your actual agenda and takes any legitimacy out of what ever you might say.

I've told you that I don't race. 99.9% of us who post up here and follow racing don't. We don't have 'a dog in any fight'. We could care less if racers even demanded their own 'private' forum to intimidate each other in terms of nerfing.

Do we have an agenda? Yes.

Either follow the rules, exhibit some kind of respect for the safety-related aspects of this sport (which is frankly everything) or don't come up here after a racer has killed or maimed someone while breaking them to offer your sympathy (even as a group)...period.

That's my opinion. If you don't like it due to the fact that you have to get off your arses and do something about it (as a group and even independent from 'Cory' who seems to always be somehow "holding you all back") then quit slapping Joey on the back every single time that he says the exact same thing.

Again, safety and expectations (rules) are everything. If you don't believe me?...then deal (as a class) with what comes next as the very title of this thread indicates.

I "agree" (in whole)....

So now your multiple people? You use the word "WE" alot. But yet your passionate enough to keep on posting and not call BITD or Cory or ask some one in person or even email or phone call any one. You just continue to stand behind your screen name whinninng until some one pays attention to you even though you refuse to tell us who you are.

That doesn't seem suspect at all.

YOU or WE are the definition of why internet forums are lame for any type or honest discussion. If your not proud enough of who are to just Introduce yourself, how much weight can we give to what you say?

I guess you have acted like a tool long enough its a little late to say who you are. I'm also guessing the bell just rang and first period algebra class just started so we wont hear from you until your teachers aid period this afternoon.
