Race ute for sale

I would love to see a competitive team build a Arctic Cat, Wild Cat.

For one I feel very strongly about having multiple manufactures represented in desert racing, but also having each manufacture competitive, as it strengthens the sport. Second I think after you cut away all the crap, the Wild Cat has a very good base platform, better then the current Can Am Maverick IMO. BTW all the manufactures have crap that needs to be cut away to make them better & competitive.

But for this to happen with a Wild Cat you are going to need a competitive team willing to make the investment, and that team will surely expect Manufacture support, which it does not seem like Arctic Cat is willing to invest in.

My guess is 2015 is going to be more of the same, you will see Polaris dominate the class, with a few more Polaris's joining the class. I expect the Can Am cars to have limited success and Arctic Cat to have Zero success, as neither manufacture shows much support and does not have the car counts that Polaris will have. I really hope this does not kill the class in the years to come. Competition breeds Competition! Without it Polaris does not need to be there in a supporting roll either, and their stock holders will tell you that.

Don't see AC becoming player .. they're HP too low... cost prohibitive to redo the whole engine w/out any manufacturer support.

I agree I wish there was more variety in field leaders and not just Polaris domination.

I believe Artic Cat did some factory support w Todd Romano and Dragon fire. They built a pretty nice car but I just don't think the car could handle what Baja threw at them. Hans can chime in here on this as he was/is part of that team and drove the car. He did say the suspension was the best he's ever been in. I think they ran away from everyone the first 150 miles at San Felipe before the car broke

If a racer approaches Polaris with a solid plan and has a good reputation and record as a racer. Why wouldn't Polaris or anyone else support them??

I think I have seen that car. The problem is they still just built a cage on top of the existing factory chassis. I thought the suspension for the most part was stock on that car too. To really built it correctly you need to do a full chassis build and only use what the rules require you to use. Same with the suspension. To make it durable you need to build better parts out of better material.

Who said it was Polaris? Who said he's changing brands? It's just a sale of current car. I think people are reading too much into this

I probably started the whole mess. I was just interested in getting some thoughts.

I have NO NADA ZILCH info for next years race season for Marc.

BUT ... IF I HAD TO GUESS .. I'd say either #1) no UTV class, or #2) No Can Am. Otherwise... I'd think they'd swap parts off this build into new build, that seems make more sense than selling whole car.

Any other guesses?

arctic cat motor is a piece of crap doesn't matter what and how you build it the motor still is crap. They haven't changed that motor since 2010.

No worries, just some people get into a frenzy and look into things more than they should. I'm not meaning you Frankie, I'm meaning the casual Joe Schmoe looking for drama.

Look at it this way, how popular would nascar be if only Chevy was represented? It would be uninteresting. Ford would have to step up their program in order to compete. Can am, and AC need to step up. Hopefully when the other manufactures release their new cars, they have intentions of starting a race team for P.R. reasons. The old adage of winnin on Sunday sellin on Monday has never been more true. Look over on rzr forums and maverick forums. 95% of the guys on their are brand loyal. Mostly due to on track performance. When Marc won the championship, you'd have thought that every guy on the maverick forums had won it themselves.

My closing statement is that BRP needs to wake up and support ALL their race teams with the latest technology that they have.

I know a couple guys who were interested in the bad Ass MAv but after reading all Reid's posts about how wore out and beat down it was they changed their mind :D
