Yeah I read that too. Not good! Hopefully the 11th hour man can pull it off.

How's a BRP engine seize? I thought they where pretty much bullet proof.
Don't let the Rotax faithful know even their motors can fail. LOL
Badassmav - That sucks the motor let go. Good thing you have a back up motor. You can get it done!!!!!!
The motor was dropped on the clutch side. I don't know much about thrust bearings, or if the crank has them, but it was the bottom end that seized 14 mile in. I measured the runout on the crankshaft where it fell, and it was .0005". I made the call to go with it because it wasn't bent. Obviously, something went wrong in the fall, and my decision was a poor one. There was no other motor available, so I did what I thought was necessary. The front spindles are off because to pull the motor, you have to pull the drive shaft. To pull the drive shaft, you have to pull the diff, axles, etc.
If you only knew............that sucks. A big opertation like you guys i would have thought you had spare motors for your spare motors.
good luck
That motor was dropped, so Im not taken back by it failing at all. Rotax Power is still better than a Popo any day. LOL.
Im also curious to see what you find that caused it to seize up, like the oil screen pick up knocked off or misaligned crank and rods or piston pin. You know they build those and set them up Tighter than a Nuns C^#T, LOL.
Unlike the hippo's hatchet wound on the Polaris.
Well ya know them POOlaris are bad news when they just OOOZE fluids out of there case seals. LOL. There on top of there machine work and tooling. Hehehe.
