A King of Hammers inspired garage build

Aaron you have to go to the gym. You heve sat around all weekend now back to the gym.:D LOL ! I'm moving can't go. Just stopped in on Brett and it looks damn good.

Update:

As of this morning looking at what I have left it is going to be VERY tight time line to get to KOH but its achievable!!

The beast has been hanging out at my friend shop for a couple days while we bang out some aluminum work.

Skid plates 75% done
Roof started
Fuel cell coming today (UPS)
Limit straps coming today (FedEx)

Still need to:

Finish wiring
shift tower
parking break
mount the hood
Fire wall...

And all the stuff I cant remember or thought of LOL

Cheers,
Brett

the video from last year, i believe it was the redline crew one dude was in a hoodie and a paintball mask lol

Yeah, I saw that, but Jeff did confirm that firesuits are required. The rules do state that 2 piece suits are allowed, even though most other off-road racing sanctioning bodies only allow 1 piece suits.

Update:

WOW! What a weekend! Got a lot done Thanks Aaron, Ed and Jonas!!

Ok skid plate is done and man it turned out awesome!! T6 6061 Alum welded one piece :D

Parking break modified from foot control to hand way bad ass!

All the templates for the body panels cute and ready for fitting

Fuel cell mount 80% done...

I have all the electrical to do and mounting of the body panels as well as the 5 point harnesses...

Ordered fire suits and on schedule for KOH!!

Oh yea almost forgot to mention; I was able to take it for a short spine and cross a couple curbs to fill out the suspension. Very cool I cant wait to go all out!!

Cheers,

Brett

Very nice. I cant wait to take some pictures of this car at the hammers.

I wish I was going to have it painted for those pictures!!

Are you planning on going to Moab Rally on the rocks this year? I will have all the finish work and paint done by then...

I don't know about rally on the rocks. Paint is not for rock crawlers, you wont want to scratch it.

update:

Well the 80/ 20 rule has never been more true!!

So with help from friends I have made some real progress this weekend.

Body panels done
Roof 90%
Fuel cell mounted (fitting leaking though...)
Engine shroud done (using some stock plastic to save time)
Rock windows done
Hood mounted done
Tail lights done (for now...)
Rigid light mounted done
Dash 90% done
Harness mounted done

Last night I ran it up and down my street (I'm sure my neighbors loved it LOL). Every thing seemed to work but if I gave it full throttle it would cut out and backfire??? not sure what that's all about.

I'm sure I have missed something but if I had to run tomorrow I think I have all the NEEDED stuff done :)

Cheers,
Brett

Thanks!!

Rock windows have been done before and I believe Crowdog was the first on a UTV. I got the idea from Jon :D

Thanks for the compliments!!

Brett

And I got the idea from a rock buggy!

Can wait to see this first hand.

Could you be running lean at WOT?

Brett,

Good work but you know me, always wanting to throw in my 2 cents. Did you consider moving your light bar down to the front on that cross brace instead of on top of it. I think (just from the pictures) that mounted up there might be in your field of view (?)
