YAMAHA - June 11th, 6PM PST on UTVUnderground.com - 2014 Model Year RELEASE!

People think the apex is cool when rotax supercharged is putting out 300hp from a Ski factory also

Yamaha is coming out with a nice utility sxs on the 11th

If Yamaha is actually introducing an new UTV for 2014, I would bet it is more inline with the Polaris Ranger & Kawasaki Teryx. I just dont see Yamaha making a true sport model.

I read somewhere that overall the "Utility" models out sell the "Sport" models Nationwide. This was Yamaha's original intent with the Rhino. It was the consumer that made it for fun recreation.

Yep I do not understand any of it

They do have the know-ledge and the factory's

They make bikes, snowmobiles and such

With way over 1,000cc

Why not make a SxS with way-over 1,000cc???

They would sell-em like Hot-Cakes

Law suits!

Sent using both hands on my Note II
Na I do-Not buy that

If law-suits was or is the case than there would be no cars, bikes, snowmobile or

jet-ski with over 1000cc

There is something other than law-suits that is preventing-em

from making a SxS with some real power such as the ones I mentioned above

That just seems to be the census! Yamaha had a big red target on there back and most people over at the Rhino forums seems to think that's what's held up production of a new model. Buy it or not I haven't found another logical reason they haven't come out with something new.

You should believe it! Why do you think all the utv manufactures, including Yamaha supported bill AB1595 that became law? AB1595 mandated helmets in manufactured ohv that are under 1000 cc's. The 1000 cc limit was chosen by the manufactures, not some politician.

Why would any utv manufacture build something over the specified limit of a law they supported & paid for? Trust me Yamaha is the last company that is going to be the test dummy for something new. Build something outside the current law that was written to protect them and you are just going to be inviting new lawsuits.

Didn't they say after coming out with the Busa they said no more faster bikes? Now we have the busanator zx14

I have heard rumor that if the sxs's are over 1000cc from the factory they have to be street legal and all DOT approved, off the showroom floor. If this is true that would raise cost I'm sure and they are already expensive enough.

June 11th - 2013 6pm PST and I will drop all the goods... I am all ready....

See if you can give us just one hint. Either horsepower, or travel, or wheelbase, maybe number of seats? Better yet, is it gasoline powered or electrically powered?

While we have been a Polaris team through and through we hold out hope Yamaha will unvail a new product for the sport market capable of flatening the point of the spear Polaris seems to be weilding these days......
Our concern over local/small/medium dealer treatment, spare parts markup/margin costs & ever-increasing productions costs driving UTV prices towards OEM small car pricing levels could be influenced by the reintroduction of a major world player to this market.......like Yamaha

If the Yamaha guys are reading this.......make it epic or don't bother.

To the Polaris folks who may be reading this.........Humility while on top produces lasting loyalty......a lack thereof produces well.........an epic opportunity for someone else.
