UTVUnderground Vegas 2 Reno RACERS FUND **$$$$**

I was talking to a friend today and he introduced me to an idea that I think would be awesome!!!!!

What if we created a Vegas 2 Reno competition pool and called it the "Racers Fund"? The way it works is UTVUnderground will contact vendors to have them kick in some money into a fund. I already have $300.00 raised by the way....Then we get each racer or anyone for that matter to kick in $50.00 each into this fund. To be eligible to win this pool you must kick in your entry fee of $50.00!! We pay out 70/30 for 1st and 2nd place finishers at the Vegas 2 Reno Race.

It only works if you guys want to do this. I think it could be a blast, and like I said I know I can already get $300.00 into the pot!!! Imagine if we could get a $1000.00 + pot together!!!! Pretty cool payday for a $50.00 investment!!!

I believe this has already been done in other classes of off road racing.

What do you say? Ideas, Suggestions, remarks welcome!!!!

Great idea. Could sweeten the already sweet feeling of winning! Plus gets more publicity to the sponsors, and the vendors involved. Why not give it a try!

Could any utv join the race? Will there be classes? In other words could you run a street bike powered rhino?

I think that this racer fund would probably be for the Pro UTV class only. I suppose any class could have their own fund but the larger number of entries is what would make the fund work. The sportsman and DSR-1 classes usually only have one or two entries.

As for a street bike powered Rhino, It would fall into the DSR-1 class. The rules for this class are posted on UTVRA.Com

I think it should be for the first two UTV finishers racing vegas to reno. Doesn't matter if it's Pro, Sportsman, or DSR1. If you're getting vendors to sponsor the purse money will their publicity come from your site or will it require their stickers on participants cars? This might cause an issue if a racer has a competing sponsor.

We could vote on it but I think I would be up for opening up to top 2 overall although I see Jagged's point since Pro class is going to pull in majority of the fund but I will leave that up to a vote.

I would say no stickers necessary except for UTVUnderground which most all of you already run anyway. I would be responsible through the site for getting those companies involved some love. The idea is to have the racers put some money where there mouths are, put together a good pot of $$, and add some fun and incentive to the race!!!!!

so questions are... Does $50.00 sound fair and do we open it up to top 2 overall or just top 2 Pro?

Just to be clear it's the top two racers in the pool and not the top two at the race. So you could technically finish third in the race but be the first finisher in the pool and get the 70% payback. Right?

As for the vote I'm open to either Pro or all, doesn't matter to me.

This is a Best In The Desert race the dates are aug 19-21. The info can be found at bitd.com

I think the bitd entry fee is $975 for the pro classes. Your car must be BITD legal. Rules can be found at UTVRA.com or BITD.com Sportsman class is a little less to enter but no payback. The racer fund that we are talking about here is something on top of the race entry.
