OK, enough rumors, Who is building a DSR1 car for the 2012 season?

I am building a DSR1 car for the 2012 BITD season. I have heard "rumors" of up to five cars that are also in the works. My car went to AZP fab today to pull the motor and make the swap. Sell your rhino motors and make the swap. Who else is building one and when will it be done? Post pics if you have any. This is what I started with. The old "So Cal FAb" rhino

I know Leeper is usually out at a few of the races. He has killed it at ss300 the past 2 years! Hopefully more racers will follow and come out for some good SR1 comp! Keep the posts coming and look forward to seeing you back out at BITD.

I did the motor swap last week. Will finish as money rolls in. (a few months) Gonna do the local desert (BORR) races and as much short course (LOORS Utah) as possible. Goal is to run the V2R next year. Sounds like A fun and fast race. Will put some pics up as I go.

We are in the midst of building one.. We bought your old car and an R1 and Weller kit this weekend, so we are hoping to get it together and make the Parker race the first of Jan.

Does the D in DSR1 mean desert?? so just building a desert style race car with R1 power?

We are selling our SR1 car, and it would make a great desert race car as well. I raced it in the 2011 Soboba GP and got 6th place, starting in last, so its a sure winner. It also saw the podium a few times at LOORRS in 2010.

Yes, it is basically a UTV with any wheelbase up to 103, any bike motor up to 1000cc, and your car would be great. How much is it? I have always liked the look.

Nope. They called last week, but still haven't made plans to come out to drive it. The guys purchasing it are local and are planning to race it in local stuff, so we should still see it around!

We are excited to get out and do some racing with you guys. It is cut up a bit right now so we can add some length to the wheelbase. We are hoping to get the engine out from between the seats and behind the firewall. Once we start putting it back together I will get some pics posted.

what i understand about rule is full tube chassis can be over 8" over stock dimension. the question is what is stock. Rhino frame or rzr4 frame which can you base it on. I want to say DSR1 is an open class. Maybe wrong but if you read into his rules it really open for interpretation.
