OK, enough rumors, Who is building a DSR1 car for the 2012 season?

It is in the forum section because UTVRA did not want to officially change the rules till the end of the season. Instead they added an addendum. Call Sappington and he will make it clear. The rule is that we can extend andy wheelbase up to the longest production wheelbase. The reason is for safety. have done 100+mph in the desert in a bike powered short wheelbase car and it is not safe. IMO, stretch it if you plan to go over 75mph.

I have some pics of mine and will post them today

I spent some time on the phone with him discussing this as well. The updated rules can be found on utvra.com..

I too am stretching my car.. Bobby, what length are you going to stretch to? I know you can stretch to 103".. Are you going to go the full length? I noticed AC went with 95" on the new wildcats, perhaps there is something to this?

Just curious!

Glad to hear you are stretching also. Yes, artic cat copied my car. I am 95-96" and after we stretched it AC released their dimensions. 100"-103" is a great wheelbase for desert racing. When we take into account the length/width ratios that are stable, 95" is just right. Too long and skinney increases the chance of a roll in a corner. Too short and wide causes a car to buck. Go 95"is and you are golden.
