this isn't about judgment or who did what or why. This is simply a memorial statue to remember those whose lives were lost, changed, and forever affected by this tragedy. Were people too close to the track? YES. Were people using bad judgement standing there? YES. Does that make their life any less important or this tragedy any less traumatic? NO
Fast-Aid and many others have worked very hard to help the families of those who lost their lives in a terrible racing accident. Volunteers made this memorial statue to remember the day and those who lost their lives. I am sure the word memorial has a certain meaning but I have been to memorial's for family members and friends who have passed away. This is no different. Splitting hairs over the meaning of the statue and what this event is called is not necessary.
Think of it as that white cross on the side of a highway. Someone made a bad decision and passed away, it is there to remember them, the tragedy, and the place that forever has changed those involved. or affected. Nothing more, nothing less.
