Next Generation of UTV tires - who is going to step up

Thanks for the info Joey. But I looked them up and the 14's are only 26.5" in dia. Not much help for me. The purpose of my thread was to try and get some consensus and hopefully a NEW tire specifically made for UTV's. Low pressure 'balloon' tires on a 1500 lb 80 mph vehicle are likely not the answer. And a 60 lb light truck wheel/tire combo is likely not the answer. I believe we need something in the middle. The first tire manufacturer to step up is going to corner the market here, because UTV's are getting bigger, faster, more powerful, etc. Just the way we all like 'em.
I agree, Casey's are a bit too small in my opinion.
I would hope that Jagged's setup is in the 55 lbs range. The picture above is what I am running - 31X1150-15LT Growlers mounted on 15" OMF billet centers. Bigger than Jagged's setup (taller and wider) and this is 62 lbs.
that is alot of unsprung weight to be pushing around.

I had my buddy Max Hanberg (2nd place at V2R in 2/1600) weigh a couple of the different combos that he runs on the front of his Lothringer. Yokahama Tractions on 15" Centerlines weigh 45 lbs. Mickey Thompson Baja Pros on 15" Centerlines weigh 40 lbs. The Yokes on BTR beadlocks weigh more. These are all 30 to 31" O.D. So you can see the need for a UTV tire versus a heavy truck tire or a low pressure ATV tire.

We have been talking with ITP and they are working on bringing a 30" desert tire to market soon that is UTV specific and will work on current 14" wheels so you do not need to go out and buy new wheels if your already using 14", and gives more rubber. Our current bead lock set up with baja cross 28" runs about 43lbs. without the beadlock at 39lbs. The new 30" with beadlocks would be about 45-46 lbs with an 8ply tire. This is the route we will be going!
