WOW what a ride - where do I begin.
Got there bright and early not knowing what the day had in store for me. I was second in line for the beginning of the ride. I made it to the Pinnacles - no problem. Then made it to Deep Creek Bridge - no problem. Then from there we started heading to our journey to Ball Buster and towards to the Water Fall and finally to Tent Peg. I had never be beyond Deep Creek Bridge and all day I was debuting if I would continue to join the group or head back. I am not a Rock Crawler and niether is my Rhino. So I said F**K IT LETS DO THIS! Well I made it beyond both Ball Buster and the Water Fall and on the last small regrouping spot before we get to Tent Peg my rhino died!
Dead Battery. The guy who was behind me for most of the ride would fall back sooooooooo far I would literally have to wait 5+ minutes every mile for him to catch up. And my engine is not set-up for this type of alltitude so while I would wait for him, my engine would die out and I would have to keep cranking it til he would finally catch up which led to my battery failier. That and the battery is about 6 years old! Ooopppsss
Any who - I have to thank Grumpy for helping me out with letting me barrow his jumper cables, Papa Bear for the couple of jump starts and trukndave for making sure I made it back to camp and also the fix-a-flat. Even thought I had these minor problem - the rhino ran great and held together and I still had a blast. Got to meet some new peeps and be able to put faces to name.
Best part of the story/ride is that I beat the Water Fall's butt and kicked the Ball Buster right in the balls baby! LOL Never again!
Thank you Rich for organizing and leading a great ride and La Familia for helping me get back to camp and keeping the group ride rolling with radios. I have never meet a group that has a love and hate relationship! LOL JK
Nonetheless I had a great tyme! Tyme to hut for a battery. See you guys on the next ride!
