Lee here and I will try to follow along and answer questions as best as I can. We don't want these RZR s to turn into the Rhino class of years ago. They turned into completely custom 40k race cars that died off fast. Let's keep it simple fun and as cheap as we can. I do try to answer all my calls and e mails. We are buried trying to get all our off season stuff done for both series. I am totally involved in the big Lucas series as well so not enough time in the day lately.
Yes we are big on safety, i have seen some knarly in car camera stuff. You think your arms head legs etc will never stretch that far? You would be amazed what can happen. Put padding on all those tubes that your body could possibly come in contact with. There are a lot of small details that can be the difference of a simple roll or life changing injury. Mark Turner from Daystar (our first Regional sponsor) rolled a full race SR1 a few years back at a ASCC race in Az.. Multiple things failed but the biggest was the window net went down, arm went outside and Sr1 crushed it on one of the rolls. He is up to about 16 surgeries and probably will never race again. Yes we want the specific latch on the net and plenty of engagement on the rod thru the tab, at least 1"to 1 1/2"of engagement. If it too short the rod will bend and net will fall down. All nets open top front in all class, this helps the safety guys with them all the same.
Arm restraints are $30 let's start out with them and keep people safe.
This class will develop some and we will have to do some minor tweeks to the rules as we learn and until we figure everything out like we did in Trophy Karts. Those rules haven't changed in years.
I had people take the passenger seat out which totally exposed the gas tank, that's why we want a cover if the seat is removed.
No you can't run the Jagged x cams and valves springs. Keep it stock. We are gathering stock parts to compare to and all the tools to check internal stuff. We have the right to take cams and I will have them profiled to check to see if they are stock if needed. Again leave them all stock internals and we won't have to do any of that stuff.
Rock guard/screen is required also.
Mastercraft is our new sponsor, check out their new Head and neck restraint. About $600. We allow any SFI 38.1 restraint now.
We are still working on sponsors and contingency companies as well so more good things to come.
We sent some web updates today and I hope to have the rules posted soon, looks like most of the important stuff has been posted here.
I have had a lot of interest in this class so 2013 is going to be awesome with this class really getting going and growing.
Thanks for the props and letting us build the first one for Michael. We have finalized our pricing and have been able to keep the cost down to $2,695.00 for the entire cage package.
We also carry the seat belts, arm restraints, seats, helmets, gloves, radios, etc. so who ever wants to race this class can make one stop at our shop and go straight to the track and race.
Anyone see Black Rhinos new cages ???
Hey you told me you would not show anyone the new design until we officially released it on UTVunderground. And you even left the skins off so now our competition is going to copy our design.
