Baja 1000 UTV's

I hung with them till they made it to town and then I fell asleep. Did he Ironman this race? I woke up at 4:30am to see if they crossed.

Kane Fraser and his team have become UTV superstars. I would like to see Joey D interview the team. This truly is a awesome story about never giving up.

He did Ironman it!!

He an TT #7 rolled across the finish line brothers in arms, very cool.

Hey Matt, thanks for showing this awesome team to us...

No problem Darryl. What a great 'feel good' story. I also think this was very good for the main stream desert racing community to get behind Kane and UTV's in general. Maybe now Sal will give us a Pro class in Baja. :) Thanks Darryl and everyone for cheering these guys on. I can't imagine racing for 36 hours...literally seeing the sun set twice!

So of the 9 utv's entered, did only 2 finish? Do we have an order of how far the other UTV's made it? I"d also be interested to know what the reasons were they didn't finish. Tires, CV's, axles, belts?

Only 1 crossed the finish line and that was 4 hours after it closed.
But it was a hell of an effort by them, they still won and are champs in everyone's hearts.
1806, Kevin Fuller in the Arctic Cat Prowler made it to RM620 then broke. Don't know yet what broke, but he was leading and would've made the cutoff time most likely when he broke.
Not sure of what happened to the others. I know 1803 broke near the summitt, 1805 broke before coming down near CP2 and had to spend the night out.
I do know, one of the broken UTVs went backwards on the course to get to San Felipe and that is totally unacceptable, very dangerous....

It shows UTV #1801 finished at 46th OA. Apparently he was in a RZR4? Can that be right? If so, that's got to be the best finish for a UTV yet in Baja?

Have been following along via everyone's posts and updates in RDC plus people in Baja and here texting me updates. I will be working to get a story done on Kane. To me this is one of, if not, the biggest story in UTV Racing's short history.

Congrats to 1802 and that entire program. And big thanks to all of you who cheered them on and kept the updates going!!

I knew we should have woke you up at 1am.

1801 broke and was trailered from San Felipe to Ensenada. They still had their tracker on and it tagged the finish line CP.
But no, they didn't finish.

I saw 1801 on IRC going 85 mph. I though to myself...dang, pretty fast for a RZR 4 with a stock motor. Turns out Bill Morris was hauling the mail up Hwy 3 in his truck towing his UTV to Ensenada after they threw in the towel.

Very cool story and one great effort by iron maning this race, the course was brutal.I was down there supporting the 102 and 1803 and had no idea this was going on.I definetly would have been listening on the radio.

Here is a video and some pictures of the UTVs we took from the Baja 1000. The video is not edited. Had a great time meeting the drivers, and enjoying the festivities.
