Anyone heard any info? Word is TORC will be adding a UTV class based upon GNCC rules.....discuss

I love UTV racing, always have. That said I think it would be pretty boring to watch UTVs go around crandon. There just too slow for that great big track.

I'll be heading to Crandon in the fall, if anyone is interested in making the trek out there also.

There is no way that TORC can make UTV racing effective or a crowd pleaser if they run the big track. They will need to make a special track within a track if they want it to work and that alone will be a challenge at some facilities.

and with GNCC rules?!

Maybe if they run unlimiteds but i think on a big open track the SR1's could really strut there stuff....

if monte carlos and single port lite buggies make the show why not some mods? its not like every class is jam packed with cars. and it would be pretty easy to shorten crandon and bark river. plenty of space.

It will be hard to build the class at TORC as there are limited Full Race UTVs across the country. And as someone above said it would be boring on the large tracks. The Lucas Oil Series really fits the UTVs size and speed. Most of the UTV racers are pinned around the Lucas Tracks and barley lift, Just imagine what Crandon would be like ? jmo

well the idea is that it would only be at select venues, they would need to build a specific track for the UTV's they wouldnt have them run the big Crandon/Bark River courses, and the UTV rules would be as such to include all the GNCC type cars therefore a large turnout could be in order. Remember GNCC has no problem getting 50-60 cars out to an event in Indiana so to put them on a stage in Texas or Crandon or something could bring out some counts. Plus it cant be any more boring then one of those buggies running around, those things are slow as hell and they let them run everywhere...because of car count...lol if you could get 100 lawnmowers they would probably let those race also...hahahaha

If they were going after a (Grand Prix) LEGP, SOBOBA, Etc style racer then yes they will get 50-60 potential cars. I'm not familiar on how safe the GNCC style rules are- Fuel Cell, Cage, Nets etc but if they can get that many cars and keep it safe then cool..
