Thinking about getting a jeep

Hey guys. so i am thinking about trading my buggy or selling and buying an older jeep. preferably a commando 1967-73 year. no smog. can drive on the road. can get just about anywhere you guys can go with the farm wagon.

Let me know what you think.

YOU JUST CAN'T BRING YOURSELF TO GET A FARM WAGON, HUH? JEEPS ARE NICE & YOU CAN USE THEM ON THE STREET. CAN YOU STILL FIND JEEP COMMADOS AROUND? THERE ARE A LOT OF OLDER CHEROKEES FIXED UP AROUND THE VALLEY. THEY WOULD WORK WHERE WE RIDE. YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO BE TOO WIDE OR TOO LONG. 4X4 IS DEFINITELY THE WAY TO GO. GOOD LUCK.

i went this route and ended up building an old Land Cruiser.

I had a commando, buick v6 with a powerglide, mine had the pick top.

no room for big tire unless you lift them pretty high though, ther rear fenders are not big tire friendly.

Kaiser made them back then.

We love our Jeep but it can't keep up on rides with the SxS's. Not sayin don't do it. Just something to consider.

i went this route and ended up building an old Land Cruiser.

I could never take that out to Ocotillo where I go... too nice. I'd sit in camp and stare at it though. Very nice LC... and an LS1 never hurts

well my dad already has a jeep 06 rubicon unlimited.

But i dont want to use his because i am afraid to beat it up.

Jim i thought about the speed. but my buggy only does 35 40 anyway so if anything the jeep can go faster in most areas where we can open it up

i dont believe that it needs smog because its to old for that. not sure. can california make you smog a smog exempt vehicle?
