We went with option 3. In order to pull that off we had to modify the rear bumper.

We added a little dip in the top tube to cradle to tire.

We also started working on the roof rack. Let's to do before KOH.

We layed it flat and hinged the mount. We are still waiting on some parts from the water jet guy. Monday is should be finished up.

Just curious, what kind of stuff do you use to "desert" proof your equipment...

we have a nikon D7100 and D800... I want to take to the desert but get nervous...
