Mint 400 now a BITD UTV race

Wow. Casey wasted no time here! LOL it was confirmed today here at SEMA between Matt and josh Martelli of Mad Media who now own the Mint 400 and Casey Folks. The Mint will now be a BITD event and thanks to Mad Media will include UTVs. Huge news and something I was campaigning for with Mad Media. Viva Las Vegas. More to come.

Wow...UTVs on the MINT 400 course - that's going to be interesting! I raced the Mint in a TrophyLite this year, and I recall saying over the radio that I couldn't imagine trying to do this in a UTV!

That being said, it is cool that BITD got this race.....great organization, and I'm glad the MINT will be able to continue! Should be a lot of fun for everyone!! :)

I've always wanted to race the Mint. Hopefully we can get some sponsor help and pull it off this year.

Yes its official, The BITD BWGP is gone. The BWC is remodeling the beach, so we can no longer use it for the pits. Casey and I recieved final approval for the UTVs to race the "MINT 400". The UTVs will race in the AM race, 2 laps of 100 miles. My first "MINT 400" was in 1979. My Dad and I raced in class 2, I think we finished 7th. There is nothing like contingency on Fremont street! I can't wait to relive the memories.
2012 will be a great year for BITD UTV racing. The UTV class will be growing to approx 20 entrees per race. Starting today the UTV, Motorcycle and Quad classes have a BITD contingency manager/inspector, "Jamie Fagan". Just like the car/truck contingency, there will be a form to fill out and Jamie will be at tech with all the necessary decals. She will also be checking for contingency compliance. Any MC, ATV or UTV racers should contact Jamie at glamisgurlie2@aol.com with any questions, also any companies that are intrested in offering contingency, please contact Jamie. There are 3 UTV manufactures that should be offering contingency for BITD UTV racers in 2012! This has not been confirmed yet. More info to come soon. Thank you for choosing to race with Best in the Desert, Sincerely Cory S

I think this will bring some UTV's to race and also bring the UTV race community together as a whole. This is a historical event and another UTV race you won't want to miss. Mad media will be making MAD videos watch out .
