LOORS SO CAL XP900 HANG OUT THREAD

My shop, Benchmark Performance, is the original builder of the car Staggs is racing. We built the car in 2011 for the 1st owner, who never raced it. It was built to run in the Lucas Oil Big Show, before they announced it was no longer.
This car is stock length. You are correct, the seat drop and low overall height give it the appearance that is it is longer.
Yep Benckmark did a great job on it and it is over built but meets all the stock class rules even stock motor, but over built is kinda a understatment after seeing what happened to the RZR that flipped and hit the krail and the cage crushed in it makes me feel alittle more safer now with this chassis after all these stock rzrs are fast and with that many cars on the track hauling butt, I have to say maybe the cages should be more stronger I dont know, since I got it I had a few changes made by my fabricator Sadistic Iron Werks nothing benchmark did wrong but just things I wanted done and will actually continue to make some more and get it dialed in for elsinore I hope. I also hopefully can get some shocks :D

So the Staggs car was stock length? It looked like it had a longer wheel base, but I guess it was just the shorter cage that gave it that appearance. From the stands I thought for sure Staggs was going to be running in an open class.
If you build one just read the rule book, contact Lee Perfect if you have any questions or feel free to ask me if i can help. Hope to see another one out there I think by next round the car count will go over 20 :D

EXCEPT FOR BRONCHITIS. WE ARE BOTH DOING WELL. SHE SAID TO SAY HELLO.:D ARE YOU GOING TO BE @ ELSINORE OR THE YUMA RACE?

I will be at all the SoCal Regionals. Get well guys and hope to see you at some races. Kj.

bummed I coudn't make it to round 1. My wife was away on a mini vacation with Rusty's wife and I had an under-the-weather son so it was daddy day care at home for me this weekend. Sounds like it was a great race, good turnout, and some really good racing and competition!

I am curious.. How did tech go for everyone and was there anything that racers were really happy about or super bummed about? I'm sure Dirty wants to hear how everyone's weekend was and how their experience was?

YES!! Let's hear about your Lucas Oil Regional Experience. Thanks in advanced.

LORORS

Big time feel and big time show without the big time price.

The Regional’s staff put together a great event. It was well run, the turnout was REALLY good, and the racing was awesome. Great job guys.

More about the staff, these guys put in countless hours putting together this program, a good day at the track for them can probably be measured by how many complaints they receive during an event. No news is good news but bad news is worldwide and usually very angry at the same time. Next race if you’re having fun let them know, they would like and probably need to hear it.

Shout out to Dave Arnold, guy spends all day talking, my old man did play by play sports radio and I’ve always admired guys with the ability to do what they do.

Another great thing about the Regional’s is it’s a great learning tool for those who have never raced before. It teaches racers how to race, how to tech, where to line up, how to set up, how to spot, and even the colors the flags are and what they mean. See, there’s this guy that stands in that tower thingy over the front straight, he has this colored fabric attached to a stick called a flag and he waives different colored ones at different times during a race. Its seems the XP class had the most trouble with the green one and whether they should start and/or pass before or after tower guy waives it, need to work on that one guys.

I had a great time at the So Cal Regional’s. I was really impressed with the turn out. The racing action was great the stands were packed.

Yes, I agree 100%. It looks like the Lucas Oil staff has hit on a successful platform to help grow short course. Regional’s in AZ, CA, Utah, Reno? my hats off but as the program grows but I have to wonder, which Regional class they will cut next year to shorten the program….;)
