DRAGONFIRERACING

DFR 2009 Baja 500-1000 Winners! - Official UTVUnde
Word on the street is that we are now Baja 1000 Champs! I’m going to start gathering info and Pic’s and drink some coffee but then I’ll jump on and tell you guy’s all about it. I know all the guy’s are glad to hear their hard work paid off

i heard DF had a horrible pile up while prerunning on bikes. 3 guys got hurt and had to go to SD emergency room. then i also heard they had motor issues again with nessy.

Congrats...you have any prob or set backs during the race ?

The car was perfect through the whole race.We shut it off one time for scheduled belt and air filter change.Checked the oil and went with no issues.
A friend of DFR was going to race a leg for a motorcycle team and him and another guy crashed prerunning and broke bones. We found out in prerunning that the new valve train setup was having issues after 100 plus miles of testing and prerunning so we switched back to the old setup for the race and the car was running 7-8500 rpm for 24.5 hrs with no issues. It couldnt have gone better.

You guys can read my whole story on the race at the official score baja 1000 thread if you want.

congrats !!!! followed you on irc and as a fellow desert racer all i can say is WOW....and to all that started congrats aswell.

Thanks guy's I'm gathering up all the info so far all I know is that our Nessy finished around 3 hours in front of the rest of the class and the Nessy we built for ITP (the production one) had a great running but ran into issues with the pickup in the fuel tank and they kept running out of gas. At one point during the race the pit had closed forcing them to go find a gas station during the race in the UTV Haha they ended up running over the time limit but they did make it all the way to the finish.

Here are some of the photos that were taken during the race.

no, most are 2 seats. I think this car is the only single seat SXS in baja and maybe in desert racing.

Congrats to the whole dragonfire kawasaki team. Maybe next year we'll see you on the starting line:cool:

I think we will be taking the the RZRS EDGE RACING 1912 to the 1000. Think it all works out with our 2010 schedule could try 500 but might be a little hard with running all the BITD races next year...
