BAJA 500 thread

Just found out from BFG that there are changes to the course. Glad I haven't pre-run yet. Stay tuned!

Reid...have you prepped the rear bumper yet? You guys have a 'bulls-eye' on you now. We will be coming and coming fast. After the Mint, I have learned that my patience and polite-ness doesn't (didn't) pay off. So it is 'game on ladies.' Woot...woot! And yes...we will be down there pre-running for DAYS! And just for the record, my first trip to Baja was in 1969. Can't wait to race! :D

Wow, that's a long time ago. In '69, I was still drinking Stout from my sippee cup:D:D. Bullseye? Heck, I could strap my kid sister to the rear bumper, and not even sweat about it! Finally, a competitive nerf after only 14 months of racing:rolleyes:. Marc would love that!

Matt, your points are so deep in our pocket, that you'll need to bring a backhoe to get them out:D Ha hee! You're sounding pretty confident, so that means you're in for a cool G then? I can never have enough Stout! C'mon! Take a look at the Monster Mav, and where it sits at this moment. We won't even get our new fuel cell until the 2nd:eek:! Yeah, tell me about it.

By the way, the Murray clan sure have been silent throughout all of this, haven't they? Did you sell them some of your secret sauce or what? Be careful now, as were worried about beating each other, the #1917 may sneak up, and roll on past us both. They are after all, the series points leader!!

Hey, how many miles is Joey going to do with you, and on which part of the course? Sure sounds like he's stoked about the opportunity, and your team is gracious for offering him the experience. Based on his thread about what tools to pack for the pre run, and his lack of tolerance for us poking fun at him, he has his game face  on for sure!

And thank you for opening a dialogue w/me. It makes me feel more worthy. That's all I ever wanted was to be acknowledged for the threat that I had created.

Me? You wanted to open a dialog with me? Then you should have asked! BTW...when I was at the IV250 I asked MB where you were. AWOL?

I have total respect for the Murray's and they are always a threat. They will be there as will some others such as Matlock, Simms, Cory, and Fag-nito (if they get the sand out of their vagina and show :D).

I think we have our 'new car blues' mostly behind us and we should be ready to rumble.

Reid...just like you don't 'bet' with your own money, I don't either. I will let others deal with that. I don't take any satisfaction from winning a bet...just from WINNING! :)

Viva Baja!

PS Joey is doing the section from RM 446 to 612.

They'll be plenty of pictures. I think the car needs the extra wheelbase to handle better and to free up the horsepower in the compound angles of the CV's.

Everyone's so worried about baja and I'm just here trying to get my Lake Havasu fix !

2 kisses for Johnny! Since Matt is looking for a Monster green bumper to nerf and he wont be seeing ours until RM 460 or so, I thought that we could just transfer some of the green from our front bumper onto Johnny's rear bumper as we fly on by! Then, when Matt comes up on Johnny's green bumper, SMACK ! Another love tap for Money Bags:D:D:D!

I just noticed that you start right in front of us Johnny. My advice to you would be to let Marc by (it's a long race, and we're good at winning the Baja 125!) and follow his lines. To challenge him early could prove to be costly, and I know your car is faster (MPH) than ours, so you can pass him back at your leisure!

Non-sequential 20's would be fine, thank you:)!!

Badassmav - based on the picuture you posted above - how you going to pass anyone with that green egg with no wheels ? :D

This is a great thread and thanks for the entertainment.

Hey Johnny! It's Sunday afternoon, and you're no good at playing hide and seek!.........I know where you are

! Trying to sneak into our backyard I see. Happy to see that you're doing your homework. Marc's heading back over there again tonight for his third session. If you bring me lots of beer on your way back from pre running, I just might not get the car done in time

! I'm not gonna lie, I am in DEEP on this one, and have NO idea how I'm going to get the Monster Mav ready in time. But I felt the same way readying the car for the last three races........................

I'm pretty sure Marc posted up his GPS speeds on Facebook a few weeks back. Somewhere around 87mph that day. I don't know about Johnnys but my stock xp1k will barley do 78mph downhill with a tailwind

I'm not a facebook user, so I didn't know about his post. Was there any verbage or description with the post? That's funny. Do you really think a 2000+lb. UTV with a bone stock motor and OEM clutchcan pull 87 mph at will? I can say with some degree of confidence that our UTE will lose in a drag race with any other car in our class. Off the line, and at top speed. Although our car is Badass, it ain't that badass!

The GPS does not lie, but numbers can be deceiving. That was testing at plaster city, with 50 mph winds at our back. Speed into the wind was 62 and those speeds are on a long, straight asphalt road. So, I stand by my comment that Johnny has the power and speed advantage over our car, as do most of the cars that we beat.

I keep trying to tell you guys, IT'S the PAY-KAGE! Try as you will, but if we have no problems, the competition has no chance. Not in Mexico:rolleyes::rolleyes:!

I just posted to you guys with total disclosure, practically throwing my cousin under the bus, and you reply with an image of his GPS. And? If the Baja gods shine down on us with 50 mph tailwinds, we'll do 87 mph again (and your car will do 90)!
