Baja 1000: What took you out?

Here is how NOT to nerf someone. Believe it or not these two teams are now friends and they team up together to help each other out. Kroeker & the Mills just raced the Mills truck at the Baja 1000 together.

^ That guy is a moron!

How about water crossing guys.... Did you mob through them and get wet, or roll them slowly?

We got very wet and it made for a very cold and uncomfortable race.....

A few things I always slowed down for unless I was 100% sure what was on the other side. One is crowds, because people dont sit in boring spots. If you see a crowd or group in a place that seems out of place, there is probably something there, natural or man made, but something is there. The other is water crossings. I have never seen an advantage of hauling threw a water crossing unless it's just a few inches deep. The few seconds saved is not going to make or brake your race. There are other places to make up time. Also I have seen, never been bitten, but have come up on water crossings with mason bricks & rocks thrown in hiding under the water just hoping to wipe out a tire or suspension part. Once during prerunning we came across a guy on the side of the course just past a water crossing who had damaged his preruner hitting a hidden tractor tire that was purposely put on the water to be hit.

Plus like you said once your wet there is nothing yo can do about it and the air blowing on you can bring you right down to freezing. I have started a few races or when it was my turn to get in wearing a cheap plastic poncho or trash bag. It sounds dumb, but if I know I will hit water in the near future that poncho can make a huge difference in comfort 100+ miles later. Plus once you have past the water point or if you just want it off, all you do is start tearing it. Sure some will still be under your belts or under your butt, but you can remove most of it easily.

One year for the 1000 we actually put two plastic ponchos in the car for "just incase" as the weather was expected to turn bad. They take no room and this way no matter where on the course, if it got bad we could pull over and put them on. You never want to loose down time, but if your stopping for a pit or by yourself to change a tire, it only adds a minute or two to protect yourself.

Thanks for the post! Will take this into consideration in the future!

And dont forget your Fake bathtub documents!!! LMAO!!! For Future FYI...a guy on our team only had his North Carolia DL and was good:D
