Baja 1000 2012 Thread.

It is the speed of the car combined with reliability and prep that wins.

The fastest car that finishes is obviously gonna be the winner.

Congrats to all.

Speed obviously helps bet I think setup is more important.I think this cars advantage is that it keeps moving only stopping for fuel and driver changes. They only had 1 flat and that is do due drivers prerunning, knowing and marking the bad spots, and keeping focused mentally.Starting last the course does change quite a bit so its important to stay sharp mentally. Also logistics and race planning are huge.It really is a huge team effort and experience lets you know what you are up against when you get out there.I would love to hear these guys stories about their adventure out there,I guarantee they learned a lot.

The first TT left the line at 11:30 am Pacific time so I'm estimating the UTVs left around 1:00 pm so the cutoff would be at 10:00 am.This is going to be close!

Way to go 1805!I have been looking all over for start times but couldnt find any,I'm pretty sure he made the cut off though.

I was looking your pics from the cars at the starting line and none of them look like this car. Did you not take a photo of every car at the start?

I'm guessing the car that burned is the 1807 of which there are no pictures of from the start.

Another angle the cage is a welded on bolt on cage. It was a racers car.

Not sure which one this was, but one of the two Wildcats entered passing through San Felipe.

Congrats Nate! Once again the Rhino proved how tough it is! :D

Congrats Nate, great prep and determination!

Great to see a rhino still showing the new kids on the block how to get things done.
