I live in the Yukon and need a 4 seater sxs for the family to go play in, there is no sand here so that doesn't need to factor into the make or model. I'll be doing trails along with going off the beaten path in the forest and the tundra. Lots of rocks up here also so i need to be able to climb those. Thanks for any and all input.

Yamaha wolverine, teryx, rzr 570, rzr 900, commander 800r, commander xt-p, wildcat trail are all trail oriented UTVs.

Wolverine overview; It's new so I don't know how accessible aftermarket parts are.

This is a shakedown of the rzr 900s; it has better suspension bigger tires compared to the 900.

This is an overview of the commanders; the xt-p comes with some extra accessories for the trail and a 1000 engine.

Here is a shakedown of the wildcat trail:

Here's an overview of the rzrs. The trail lineup includes the 570 and 900. The 900 xc comes with upgraded suspension and tires for trail riding.

The thing that worries me about the rzr are when u go to the 2015 900 section 95%of the threads are for shit that's wrong. Like the air filter gets crazy dusty and worried about dusty engines. Or axle breaking or bushings on a brand new ring squeeze like no tomorrow ect.. ect. .. I know all stuff has a issues but out the box their is stuff wrong for 252 isn't write. Or am I reading to much into it? How are the mavericks with the 60" wheel base?

Do you mean width? A 60" wheelbase is pretty short. The wheelbase on a base maverick is going to be around 80" and around $16,000. The commander xt-p has a 1000 engine, 75" wheelbase, a built in cargo box, push button start, selectable driving modes, big fuel tank, fox podium shocks, beadlock wheels,, nerf bars, a bumper, and winch. I think there are a lot of aftermarket accessories too. I don't really know much about the rzr 900 but it shares a lot in common with the xp 1000 so there will be a lot of aftermarket parts for what they have in common. The 900 xc is going to be $17,000 with more ground clearance and fox podium shocks, polaris interactive display, more clearance, longer wheelbase, less width, less horsepower. Since you're interested in rocks, @JoeyD23 just got back from moab in the utv underground 900 so he might be able to comment on it. It's really modified, and I think they're going to be using it mainly in the desert, though.

How are the reviews on the commander xt-p seems like its a pretty good bang for the buck at $18,000 canadian only would need to add a roof/half windshield. How is the reliability of those?

Pretty hard to beat a T4 in the rocks and trails. But it needs suspension help. My T4 w/ LT was the best family oriented rock crawler / trail UTV I've ever built. I miss it everyday.

Our 900 was awesome in Moab. It's no XP1000 or Teryx w/ LT but it worked awesome and for the price it's hard to not consider. It's comfortable and has plenty of power and torque. I would have liked to of had 30" tires vs. the 28" but I think the 28" tires is the right tire option for all around use. I highly recommend it!!

I have been in plenty of rocks and forest with 0 problems, knock on wood. I have rode with most all rigs RZR, Wild Cat, Teryx and Can-Am. My opinion, if you want to ride rocks stay away from the Can-Am. There are several rigs to choose from but to really know which one you would want you would have to try them all. I believe any one you choose will need some sort of up grade, weather taller tires, lift or wider wheel base. Me with 30"tires on my stock XP4 1000 there is not many places I cant go. If you are looking to spend less money, my opinion get the Teryx widen the wheel base and you will be good to go. I was able to follow JoeD and his crew last year at ROTR and was very surprised at how his Teryx handled.

Good luck with your decision.
