How good do the rzr 170's run? I've got a 7 year old who wants to race moto-x, he's good, but I like the idea of a cage. Used trophy Karts range from 4500 to 6500, but a 170 would be good if they aren't too slow and if you don't have to put alot of money in it to race it . Are they slow? Would a 7 year old get bored of 170? He doesn't get bored with his KFX80 quad, or should I just get the trophy Kart and be done and save a step. Anyone out there know?

roof yes, seats no (preference really)

you also can get some lightweight suits for karting that Dio would prob allow for the 170 class, check out K1 racegear.

Here is a RZR 170 that I've been building for my son... I've been trying to keep it simple and inexpensive with the hopes of it being able to be competitive in the 170 class.

So far it has a roll cage and doors from SDR, Seats from Beard, 5 points from Simpson, and shocks from Walker Evans. Everything else is stock on it. I hope this is where the rules will be positioned for the class.
