UNBELIEVABLE!!! BLUERIBBON COALITION NATIONAL ACTION ALERT!

The Lyin King

Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

Unbelievable.

Yesterday, just days before the comment deadline for the US Forest Service's new Forest Planning regulations, the US Forest Service released a "science review" of their Draft Planning Regulations for public review and comment.

See it here . . . Planning Rule- Home

This is unbelievable. While stakeholders, including BRC, ask for additional time to make sense of hundreds of pages of planning bureaucracy, the agency dumps another hundred pages of "scientific" review and recommendations.

Rest assured BRC will review this new information and its potential impact on recreation. But your help in securing additional time for review is critical.
Yesterday we sent out a National Action Alert (see below), asking for your help getting the Department of Agriculture to provide an additional 90 days to review and comment on the Draft Planning Rule for the U.S. Forest Service.

If you haven't yet visited, BRC's Rapid Response Center and sent your message, please take just a couple of minutes and do it now.

You can simply click here . . . Help Support Request To Extend Comment Deadline For US Forest Service Planning Rule - BlueRibbon Coalition to send your message.

Thank you in advance for your involvement. As always, please call or email with questions.

Please give this thread a “Bump†when you have sent your letter . . . thank you!

I share your anger with theses eco-socialists, and I am not trying to pic nits here, but nothing these buffoons do is unbelievable to me anymore.
The entire department of the interior, and Ag, needs a cleaning out on a level that would require tenting, not unlike fumigating for termites...
Which...when ya think about it...is kinda what they are.
gotta go.
BP rising.

They have been trying to close our off road trails here in Lake Havasu and Parker areas also. There is a BLM meeting at the aquatic center on May 9th to discuss their idea of land management. Hope all in our area can attend.

You're right! The EnviRomaticists and OUR Government are both out of control, they share a lot in common.

The majority of "the powers that be" could care less about anybody but themselves, wouldn't exist were it not for massive amounts of money and are never satisfied until they get re-elected.

The EnviRomanticists could care less about anybody but themselves, wouldn't exist were it not for massive amounts of money and will never be satisfied until they return nearly the entire continent to pre-Columbian times.

The EnviRomaticists want one huge Zoo and our Government has become one.

The fumigation starts in the voting booth and right here folks, by getting involved!

2nd letter sent...

I highly urge everyone to get onboard this. Many of you may think it doesn't affect you, but it does. The eco-exclusionists are systematically eliminating our sport, bit by bit, through things like this.

Great work folks, please keep it rolling . . .

"The May 16th deadline is fast approaching for the submission of comments on the draft Forest Service Planning Rule. Concern over the scope of the proposed draft continues to grow. In fact, sixty-five national organizations, ARRA being one of them, joined together to write the Administration with the request that the comment period be extended for an additional 90 days.

(NOTE FROM THE LYIN KING: If you aren't much for reading stuff at least check out the list of 65 co-signers at the bottom of the letter to see who supports this, very impressive!)

A similar letter requesting an extension is also circulating on Capitol Hill.

Meanwhile, we just learned that a hearing on the Forest Service Planning Rule is scheduled on May 5th before the House Agriculture Committee. As you well know, early on in the planning process, a lot of frustration was expressed when the agency virtually ignored the issue of recreation on Forest Service land. Although the Forest Service addressed that oversight in the Draft released on February 10, 2011, additional concerns continue to arise over the direction of the agency as ARRA and other interested stakeholders wade through the lengthy document. I suspect we will hear a lot of those concerns expressed at the May 5th hearing.

To be fair, the U. S. Forest Service has done a good job of facilitating dialog among and with various stakeholders throughout the planning rule process. However, this is a very big issue with many legal pitfalls unless the Planning Rule is carefully crafted. Granting another 90 days for public comment will be time well spent if it helps minimize the prospect of lengthy litigation. Here's hoping that the Forest Service grants the comment extension period request to give the general public more time to digest and comment on the Draft Rule."
