Sport UTV issues?

Seems all the SxS companies have issues with breaking tie rods amongst other things. Are there upgrades one can look into this to help prevent this from happening? I've heard companies "without dogging any out" that they use the same tie rods that they use for their ATV's and UTV's being twice the weight just don't hold up as good.

Can anyone chime in?

add a gusset kit, heavier tie rods, new clutches and you will have one hell of a Maverick. it will cost you 2k to do the above.

now add the cost of a nice cage, seats, 5 point harness, and lights(cost is the same no matter what unit you buy). about $3500

i am not sure what the XP1k or wildcat needs to beef up, but they are not perfect out of the box.

I've heard out of the box that the Mav has the edge on the rzr. Particularily the stock components. What I like "From what I've researched" is aftermarket parts for the rzr's are endless. I plan on dumping quite a bit of money building it up so it hauls ass. If I remember correctly, some of these turbo kits come with clutch kits because they require them? Correct me if I am wrong.

No offense to Mav or Cat lover's, but I'd love to leave as many of them in the dust as I can :D

Is polaris selling XP1K's from the dealership or something along those lines?

ThePolaris dealership in Denver, CO is selling them. I inquired about buying 1 with a turbo installed. The salesman I talked to said it is something that they do often. That the turbo market for SxS's is in high demand.

That is all that I know from 1 phone call I made to the Polaris dealership here in CO.

just a heads up being this is a new model not the same as the xp 900 there will be a delay on parts highly dought that many parts will crossover. there is no turbo kit available yet for it. the one on the underground car was a custom one off set up, but mcx probably is working on a kit. from what i have seen just like the older rzr's it will need upgraded A arms9get rid of the crappy ball joints), a gusset kit, upgraded tie rods front and rear.

you should all just buy a teryx t4 , drive it like a jeep, stay out of the sand. jk. maybe im just getting old. after downhill mountain bike shoulder injury. and dirtbike back injury. my 2 wheeled days are behind me. i miss my jeep. utv replaces the jeep. i wish i could fit in the can am or rzr like you guys. and continue to jump stuff and play in the sand like my bike and atc days. maybe its OEM standards, hopeing we will pay big money to aftermarket. or maybe its our driving style that wears on the equipment. either way its fun, and a hobby. see you in the dirt.

Funny as we get older we are more cautious. You would think it would be the other way around. Young; a lot to live for and careless, no respect for life especially your own. Where as when we are Old we are overly cautious and fixing to die of old age anyways lol.

You'd figure that since we are old, we would be more willing to take that life defying jump, simply because we're passed our best years anyways.

This has been the one reason I haven't bought a rzr yet. I really like the new rig but still needsbto many things upgraded to last the way I ride.
