This is were its at. The whole reason I built a DSR1 is that I could build my own chassis with stock mounting points. With the car counts so much higher in the production class I would have rather built for that but the budget just wasn't there.

Let's be honest, you can buy a SCORE race car in another class ready to go for under 20k. The UTV class isn't the cheapest class to race....

Ok...I will bite.
You can buy an old clapped out, 10-15 year old POS for under 20K...probably not truely 'ready to race' and not with any spares. You are comparing a new build UTV or even a DSR1 build. I know that I sold the Bobsled for $20k with all of the spares etc and it was only two years old. I have heard the 2/1600 comparison to UTV's, but most of that stuff is WAY old and a 5/1600 is slow. Apples and oranges!

I agree it's not apples to apples but you have to agree that the utv class is not the cheapest class to race

I would guess that if we stay on the course we are on there will be steady growth. It's very expensive to race period. It will take 2 or 3 manufacturers to join the game (over and above the ones now) and several teams under each to hit the bigger numbers. Or the ones in the game now need to throw out some big rewards for podium finishes to the teams joining in for the adventure. When the oems compete for top positions there will be lots more entries. This sport with which we compete is still in the early stages. And it's moving in the right direction. Or we find a way to up the awards from third party's and increase video coverage to get more exposure.

I think you need to get score and bitd to expose the utvs more. better coverage than joey facebook page that is were I got 80% of what was going on in Baja. Need to find a way to cover race it will be better for all utv's. Kind of no fun to learn about race a couple days later. its like waiting to hear how the chargers beat the broncos a week later.
