one question. i am running #1979 .black numbers with yellow background. entering pro prod 1000 class. will i need to change my number or color of background. i hate changing every time i enter a different race with different rules

Gastel Racing will be there, not a big fan of qualifying I think AVE should stick with random drawing... pretty sure a team wouldn't be to happy if they lawn darted their car in qualifying and had to sit out the race cause they couldn't get it back together before the start..... just sayin and yes we get new numbers every race

PURE “300†UPDATE…

We’ve received calls regarding signing up for the upcoming PURE “300†SXS OFF-ROAD RACE, Presented by SXSPERFORMANCE.COM asking as to when is the last moment you can sign up before going into the “Late Fee†structure. SORRY but we have reached our limit of 400 entries and can’t accept any more!!!

Just kidding of course.

We would suggest now to send your entry in. However, we will be at the start/finish on Friday, June 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. taking in almost-late entries for the same regular price:
• $350.00 PROS, with $200.00 going back to the purse and
• $150.00 SPORTSMEN who will be competing for trophies and no payback.

However, if you get us your entry either via fax to our toll-free number: 1.877.842.3052 or e-mail it to: info@averacing.com or send it so that it arrives by this Thursday (via snail-mail) to: P.O. Box 2141, California City, CA 93504 – You’ll be in the game and we can assign you a starting position and provide you with your race numbers (black solid numbers with white background).

But if you sign up on Saturday, June 22, race day, you’ll have an additional $100.00 to the regular entry fee. Not cool for you, great for us!!! Not really because it make for more work for us at the last minute.

You’ll be able to pre-run the 44-plus-mile course on Friday, from Noon until ??? We suggest you take at least one pre-run lap at night since most competitors will have at least two or three laps in the dead of night.
Just saying.

ONE LAST NOTE: We have moved the Motorcycle and ATV Classes and the event to the following weekend (June 29), so you’ll have the entire weekend to yourselves.

For immediate press release…

OUT-OF-STATE RACERS INTO THE PURE “300â€

AVE Racing reports that a new crop of out-of-State racers have signed up for the second event of the five-event DWT 2013 PURE SIDE-X-SIDE OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES, Presented by SXSPerformance.com

Racers from as far away as Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada will dice it out with a crop of California racers on the 44-mile, 300-miler PURE “300.â€
The course is being marked and by Friday it will be ready for pre-running, starting at Noon and open until Midnight. AVE recommends to those who are pre-running to do at least one lap in daylight and one at night as the race will start at 4 p.m. and should finish around midnight.
The 300-miles consist of seven (7) 44-mile laps around a course that has been described as one of the best ever laid out. “The race course has a little bit of everything,†according to Race Director, Alan Bell, who spent the day marking the course with race promoter, Lou Peralta. Lou added, “We think we have one of the best courses ever. Nasty whoop and rocks sections followed by smooth two-rail dirt roads, then a couple of canyons, sand washes, fairly fast roads and back to hills and lots of rocks. As Alan said; we have a little bit of everything, all in a 44-mile lap. Racers are going to love it.

For those who have been waiting to sign up you have until Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to do so before paying the “Late Fee†of an extra $100.00.
Before that (highly recommended), you can e-mail your entry to: info@averacing.com or fax it to the toll-free fax 1.877.842.3052.

California City, CA - June 19 - We just returned from marking the entire PURE "300" course with white/red/pink ribbons, reflective tape that you can see at night, black arrows with white background and mileage markers every five miles. The course has been shortened a bit from its original 44.2 miles to 39.6 miles. Therefore eight (8) laps are required to finish the event in the time of eight hours. Yeah, we know it's more than 300 miles...have at it!
Regardless, the course is fantastic and you will really enjoy it. It's easy in spots and difficult in others. So take your time. It's got a bit of everything. Enjoy!

Below is also the terrain profile of the final course. Please note that the lap distance is 39.6-miles, therefore there will be eight (8) laps required to complete the course in 8 hours. First vehicle to finish in Class all vehicles in same Class also finish when they cross the line, no matter how many laps each has completed at the time.

We have a Google Earth "kml" file to download to your GPS if you have already signed up. Send us an e-mail. In the meantime, enjoy the course by taking a "virtual tour."

Had a great time out at the race this weekend. Wanted to thank Lou for putting on a great event. This was a great place to get some seat time and I am looking forward to the next one.

Aaron, congratulations on your win in the Production 1000 PRO Class. The results are now posted on our website: www.averacing.com

Please read an important message regarding the Overall and 1.5K-KUP points structure.

Absolute Overall winners were Gregory Sullivan and Mark Krystofczyk (try saying that three times fast, hahaha!) aboard a DRAKART/Hyabusa, in the Unlimited 2 Pro Class. They finished the eight-lap race in 8:40:02:091.
Second Overall and first in the Production 1000 Sportsman Class were Josh and Jim Westling (Polaris XP900) with a time of 8:45:57:620. These two drivers were the only ones to complete the eight laps in the allotted time of 8 hours.

Third Overall and first in the Production 1000 PRO Class was the team of Aaron Juarez and Derek Murray (they picked up a hefty $950 for their effort in Class--A total of $2,200.00 was up for grabs in the Pro Production 1000 Class), finishing in a time of 8:08:03:638 for seven laps.

Complete results are on www.averacing.com

Congratulations to all who participated. Even though the course was a bit tougher than most thought at first glance and although it looked from the map to be a flat and fast course, it turned out to be just the opposite. Lots of "whoops," deep sand and rocky terrain made it for a tough day/night for most. When they were done, they knew they had gone for a long ride. But that's what off-road is all about, especially in an endurance event. They got their money's worth.

Photos of the event will be up shortly on our website. Anyone who may have some video of the event or of a particular entry, please feel free to send it to us (or the link) so that we can display it on our website.
Unfortunately, as many of you already know, our good friend and Lucas Oil Helicopter pilot, Will Higginbotham, a good friend of our family and friend of our son, Lonnie Peralta, director and cameraman for many of the off-road events, passed away several weeks ago covering an event in Missouri. He will be sorely missed.
We are currently trying to coordinate coverage of future events in our series.

The next event is August 2-4, with the running of the DWT PURE "350" Presented by SXSPerformance.com. Again, it will be laid out using a completely different course that AVE has already designed.

Results for the PURE "300" will become official, July 1, 2013.

Yeah. At the first event the Westlings finished among the top and I thought they would run in the Pro Class. At this 350 had they entered in the Pro Class they would have walked away with probably a Grand.
Good job guys!

Remember qualifying for starting positions for the PURE 300 starting at 9 am on a 2 mile course in front of everyone!

Today we will post the IRC tracking files.
