I remember my dad grooving up drag slicks just like this in our Kithcen before a Jeep trip to Pismo for Halloween.

This is Howard Tounget from Hemet Ca. who owned Howards Auto Body and Paint on State St for years!

He painted a number of the race cars!

That is cool pic with the dunes in the back ground and look at the camps at the end of the drag strip!

I went over to pismo this weekend and seen this old schooler sitting in front of an old repair shop.

This is by far the best thread ever. The old photos bring it all back and also make me think you are spot on. We can have no fun unless we are told it is ok too do so. The small amount we do have is on its way out. I don't have all the pictures you have but I remember all that fun we had and it was ok. The young guy and gals don't understand when people like Bear has this strong feeling like something has been taken away from them. I'm not trying to talk for you Bear and I'm sorry if it sounds that way but you are so right. The Pic's are so cool to look at but the point is WE ARE LOOSING IT ALL FOR NO GOOD REASON. I LIKE THE BODY STYLE. I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE IN THE IMPERIAL VALLEY IN YEARS. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE.

I WILL LOOK FOR PIX TO POST. MINE WENT THROUGH SVERAL DIFFERENT LOOKS. MY SON(NOT MY REAL SON BUT WE CALL HIM THAT) HAS THE TRUCK IN HIS MOM'S GARAGE PRIMERED & IN A MILLION PIECES. IT HAS A 1972 FORD TORINO 390. ORD LIFTED I-BEAMS. SORRY THIS PIC OF THE TRUCK IS UPSIDE DOWN. THIS WAS MAYBE 1987.
