Official UTVUnderground 2016 Parker 250 Update Thread

Those numbers can't be right.... the times don't even show Lambert winning the overall ?

Based on the numbers he held a 59.16 mph average. Sims was 9 seconds behind him. Class is crazy fast.

I think those numbers are wrong as the first lap is much shorter bc you don't go thru the python...

"..Saying the XP turbo has a beefier set up than the non turbo isn't saying much, since the non-turbo drivetrain package on the stock 2014-2015 XP4 1000 n/a cars sucked. I am not aware of what changes Polaris made to accommodate the turbo. Up until March last year, the car I prepped for Marc (the BB-Q'd 2015 XP4 1000) had cv joint issues, transmission seal issues at all 3 transmission shaft outputs, front sprague vulnerabilities even with the replacement metal bearing cage, and issues with driveshaft bearings and slip joint engagement. Not to mention a poor spline interface where the inner cv stubs slide into the splined sprague and tranny. I based my statement of the drivetrain design and durability of said car, without even going into comparing Can-ams set up to Polaris.

You'd better be careful..most everybody has sworn (literally) to me (up here) that neither of us know what we are talking about in this regard..

"..it is sad that the UTV racing classes will continue to be plagued with controversy over the rules and how they are implemented..I would love to know why the start order got screwed up at the gate after we staged and started to move forward. I should have started against Staggs and his Yamaha but ended up getting the light with Felix who had a draw position 2 below mine. Secondly, the rules had some changes this year that were not enforced even at Tech. We changed things on our car to make sure we met those yet saw car that had not. One of these cars was supposedly built by Dezert Toyz and still the bumpers were so short they were more of a brush guard. Another three digit car did not have rear fenders at all. The rules now read in both production classes we have to have front and rear fenders. I guess it is what it is, fenders and bumpers don't win races. We will continue to work hard as hell to keep racing and worry about rules stuff when it affects us.
Start positions do affect us and it sucks to have a start position and somehow Two cars with draw spots behind me start before me.

Again, careful of what you say..as your fellow racers weren't all that happy about you standing up for yourself on this exact same subject 'before' the race began...let alone after it.
Common rigid bumper design is not only critical but the primary initial contact point and everything to do with what happens next involving racers being maimed, killed or walking away.
The 'kids' up here racing these things evidently don't believe this nonsense and are either afraid to stand up for their own safety/other's or simply don't care about either.
Until this class standardizes the obvious?...it will be the entire class responsible for someone's injury or death after this many times reading posts not such as mine..but by their fellow racers.

Most of you guys are typing away..literally joking about all the perpetual rules changes or the shameful/complete disorganization involved in the race itself..yet 'somehow' believe that overall safety isn't suffering as a result. If the person lining you up and giving you that green flag doesn't have 100% confidence in their eyes after the field has already being checked/rechecked?..I can guarantee you that this class has more to talk about amongst themselves than who ended up where afterwards.

I'm praying for you guys and gals tonight that your happy-go-lucky attitude here is the legacy that you really want to hand down to the next generation of young people strapping themselves into cars tomorrow that will be MUCH faster and infinitely more dangerous at this power to weight ratio.

For heaven's (or at the very least their) sake wake up.

If you ever wondered why I don't give a rip whether I'm booted off this site or not..it's because I'm not even racing these things..YOU are.

It will be YOUR kids wanting to follow in their Dad's or Mom's (or more accurately family's) footsteps.

...and if your legacy to them isn't safety first and then let's talk about it some more before we give a rip about what the rules actually are concerning it (as we'll get them changed or not race)..then what are you racing for?

Polaris? CanAm? Yamaha?

Since when did desert racing become a nanny state? holy $#!t, people should be responsible for their own safety "legacy" The racing organization should suggest a number of safe options for you to take/use, but ultimately leave those options up to you, bumber, no bumber, if you hit a person with a car the outcome is never good :( And when you don't make it out alive, your family shouldn't be able to sue the manufacture, the organizer, the fed blm, and all the other people they try to milk because they didn't inform you well enough...YOU decide to jump out of the plane, YOU should have worn a PARACHUTE!!!!! Do YOUR research, don't blame everyone else because you don't have enough time, patience, money, or whatever poor excuse you have. Own up to your actions, bite your bullet, or stay behind the keyboard and keep dreaming... Maybe someone will produce a millinial falcon or whatever fantasy craft you choose and you can crash it and sue george lucas.........after all, it was his idea?????

We ran 32' BFG AT KO tires with great luck. Yes there the 32'x10.50x15 truck tires. A little heavy but with 240hp we can roll them pretty easy. We run the 2902 Unlimited Pro Class.
