Official UTVUnderground 2016 Parker 250 Update Thread

Mile 157.5 and broke the spherical bolt on the upper control arm. One of the team has the fix in their pocket. It's always that one thing.....:) It's not done yet we're trying to get the parts here. Just watching all the cars go by at this point. image.jpg

I was told Burnett finished around 12. This must not have been true ? I'm by no means a Can Am guy (raised in Minnesota) but they have been killing it the last two races by filling the top 8 with much fewer entries. Thanks alot Joey for setting up this thread. Very much appriciated.

Parker is a fun place to race but it is tough on equipment.
To me the class has become so competitive that there is really no pace anymore it is 100% wfo for a podium finish. This is exciting racing but it is going to show in poor finishing percents. UTV's are a production based class and the speeds they are averaging are pushing them to their limit and beyond. Is their any other production based classes in all of desert racing even close to the speed that these guys are running? I don't think so.

Championships will go to the teams that can find the balance to be consistent and fast. there could be a lot of different winners this year but the points champ may not be among them.

Exciting year ahead.

Tim

Looks like Cognito's non-turbo car has what it takes to win overall. Anyone have the official results yet?

Burnett did cross the line in 11th overall. Not sure about corrected time and what position in the turbo class.

But he ran out of fuel and was still able to pull off a decent finish. I think around 7th in turbo class. ?

Congrats to Cognito and all the finishers!

Also just a FYI, Cory didn't make us change the ecm, he asked us if we minded because several race teams which he wouldn't name were accusing of us running a modified ecm, so we allowed him to do it. So to make everyone else feel warm and fuzzy inside, he took a factory ecm fresh out the packaging and put it in our car right before the race. But this will be the last time we allow it to happen, if someone wants to accuse us....they can put up the $500.00 and protest us, then they can accuse us of cheating right to our face. We will be happy to take their $500.00. It would have been nice if it happened the day of tech instead of right before the race.

Just got back from Parker. There were some big gaps between cars today! Cog boys had a good distance on the next car and they were hauling the mail. Them C.A. were looking good too...The competition is fast in this class and it really showed it today!

This is why the turbo class should have been open like thee NA class. Its much easier to police, but thats for another thread.lol

Congrats to Cognito and all the finishers!
