Need to vinyl cover my doors..

So my new doors have that "tinny" sound to them. I ordered some carbon fiber look, black marine grade vinyl to cover the inside with to eliminate the sound. My plan is to give the skin a good wipe down with alcohol and then hit the door skin with some 3M spray adhesive and then hit the back of the vinyl with the adhesive and put the two together and then trim around the skin with a sharp razorblade and use a soldering iron to make the holes for mounting the skin back to the frame. Does this sound right or is there a preferred method?

exactly what i did 4 years ago when i built my rhino. still sticks today. dont forget to cover the outside of the dzus tab holes, or the spray glue will get on the paint.

I am doing something similar but I am using a felt type material. It should help cut down on the sound. I have weather stripping on right now and it works great. But I will be doing the felt thing because it will also look nice.

I am going to make a backing and try some heavy velcro so I can clean easier.

Thats how I did mine but without the soldering iron. I cut around the mounting holes with the same razor blade. Yes it will stop you rattling.

watch out for the felt. i originally used silver crushed velvet ( for the pimp look) and it faded to a light grey in 1 year

Thx guys... I'll proceed with my plan. BTW Mega... did it help out sound wise?

dont know, i did it when i built it. if you knock on the door panel it sounds pretty solid not tinny.
