Mint 400 UTV qualifying

I have spoken with a ton of racers who plan to race both the UTVWC and Mint that love the idea of the UTVWC being a qualifier. If you are racing both you probably have some level of confidence in yourself to do well. If you aren't racing both then sure you probably hate this idea and I get it. It's impossible to make everyone happy. Qualifying every race would be awesome but it's not happening anytime soon. I'm hoping for the UTVWC in 2015 we can have a qualifier. But instead for this year to level the playing field we are going land rush.

I believe we need to make things fresh and different and add new challenges to our racing. Not every race of course but what's it hurt if one race out of the year has land rush, One race has qualifying, One race is 2 days, Etc... After a while every race feels and looks like the same ol same ol. It gets redundant. Same tech and contingency, same start, same results. Let's challenge ourselves and find new ways to add excitement to the class. If land rush doesn't work well at UTVWC and this qualifier idea sucks then we change it for the next year. But staying in the same ol thing is kinda boring. IMO.

I've been involved in other race series and if you want to stir the pot just change or even suggest changing the status quo. That said, changes have generally been good and people adapt to them quickly. I don't see any downside to implementing the old adage......try anything once!

Joey, you hit the nail on the head. If I was racing both races that sounds like a good plan. But my car will not be completed until the mint. The changes you guys are making are good for the sport. You're never going to make everybody happy in every situation. Qualifying was just an idea and it sounds like the sport is not ready for it yet.
As far as the land rush start at the UTVWC. That is an awesome idea. And it will definitely be very exciting, wish I could be there.
