Lake Elsinore GP 2010 PICS and INFO

Hell yes! That is awesome, way to go guys, and congrats to you as well Steve and Makin Trax, I wish we could have been there.

Edit, Code said "No way, thats sick!"

Good job guys.

Congratulaions to Johnny Pacheco of IMG Motorsports - 1st Overall - 1st in Mod Class & James Hill of IMG Motorsports - 2nd Overall and 1st in Super Sport Class at the Elsinore Gran Prix today.

Johnny Pacheco held off the always hard charging James Hill to best the entire field in the IMG built and prepared MakinTrax Yamaha 700 Rhino Rhuggy with AFCO Shocks. Johnny proved today that preperation, suspension, reliability and of course a talented driver, wins races.

James Hill in his Makin Trax Sponsored 686 powered Yamaha Rhino with AFCO Shocks and King Progressive Springs, who started deeper in the pack due to being in the Super Stock class, made his way to the lead pack in the first lap but was unable to completely reel in Johnny Pacheco for the overall, who had a commanding lead before the checkered flag was dropped. Yet still had a 2nd overall and 1st in the Super Stock Class. James as well is a talented driver and partner with John Pacheco in IMG Motorsports and shows that hard work, reliabiity and and his "get out of the way I'm comin' through" driving style pays off.

Congrats Boys!!!!!!! Way to represent. You make me so proud to be part of the the winning combination!

Steve your car looked great out there and of course John drove the hell out of it ! Way to put the cars on the podium bringing a first place in 2 classes, IMG motorsports and Makin Trax.
Thanks Daniel. The guys at IMG not only did an awesome job building my car, but also prepping them to hold up under James and Johnny's hard charging driving style. Sorry to hear what happen to your car! You were hauling ass! Hope there isn't too much damage.

Thanks Doug and Code! We missed you guys. I am so proud of Johnny & James. Johnny really deserved this win! I knew when I fired the primary driver(me LOL), I was putting the right guy in the seat. Johnny and I will be teaming up to drive in a 100 mile Desert race in Cal City on Dec. 16th. That will be fun.

If it is December 18th it is the Formula Desert Lites race up in California City. I am going to start a thread on it tomorrow, also with updates for the 2011 season.

Great video, to bad it wasn't a little more clear.Congrats on your first race and finishing!! 6 bolts and my car is a family 5 seater rhino.

Thanks! Next race I will find a better spot to mount my camera, a spot where my co driver can reach it to wipe it off. Hobie's footage came out awesome.

Where is the info on the Cal City race? Dec 18th?

You racing Hobie?

I was supposed to start a new thread for the Cal City race today, but my nephew bought a car for the FORMULA DESERT LITES series in Cal City so I had a 150 mile round trip today. The race is December 18th in California City, $65 entry fees and $25 IRC tracker. It will be three 30 mile laps of perfect terrain for UTV's! The race promoter that FDL is working with is Lou Peralta, Alta Vista Events. The series for next year is 6 races and I will post up the tentative schedule tomorrow on a series specific thread. I would appreciate it if you are interested in the series to contact Lou and let him know. Here is the link for AVE you can find Lou's email on the site. CAR 964 Super Stock. Had some bad luck and a few mistakes but finished with the help of some awesome people track side and had a great time.

There was a total of 32 SXS'S going at it in the town of Lake Elsinore.Congrats to James and John from IMG MOTORSPORTS for both taking 1st place in there classes MOD & SUPER STOCK.This was a awsome venue and great track lay out put on by podium productions. There was several finishers and half the pack went out and DNF.
Here is my story for this race, It started off great and I was following the pack in the dust! I passed a SXS flipped on it's side and help was on its way. Next we came up to a burm section and there was about 200 plus people watching the race at that part of the course. It looked liked I was racing in Mexico. The starting line was about 1 mile away, 1/2 mile was a HRT car on fire and I believe he was leading the race,Driver Blue Q.
There was no one around and I crossed the starting line and came up to HELL'S DROP OFF slammed the brakes thinking I was going to fly down a hill and SNAP went my stock steering rack!!!

Congrats to the guys and girls that finished and hope you guys stick with it because there will be more GP'S to come!!
PICTURES WILL FOLLOW.

Actually Brian Fitzpatrick won the Mod class. I guess John wasnt being completly honest about his class! I raced superstock and I knew there were a few cars that should have stepped up and raced Mod. Even the officials called out a couple of the cars! I guess they though it would be easier to get that W!!!

Actually the official moved John to the Mod class at the starting line, wheather scoring changed that or not is on Podium. It had nothing to do with John's honesty. I guess he didn't need it to get the easier W!!!!!!!! Either way, John covered the entire field by winning the overall and beating Brian Fitzpatrick by 3 minutes and 44 seconds and you by 4 minutes and 23 seconds. :D

As he should have. I have no engine mods. All Im saying is that half the guys in superstock had full mod cars. They should really do a tech inspection on these cars and put them in the right classes.

i thought the race was alot of fun, and to be honest my car and johns car fall right into the superstock class with stock motors. the only change on steves car, is the rear arms have a little change in pivot points. i also dont think its fair to run a 700 stroked rhino against an r1 powered car to race mod. but it is what it is i guess..just a few of my thoughts for the morning. on top of that big thanks to motul, makin trax, synergy graffix, and everyone else that came out to race!

I'm with James, I raced Superstock because I can't afford to dump 5K into my engine or do the R1 swap. I think both Johns car and James car as well as mine are perfect examples of what should be allowed in Super Stock.

I have a stock 660 motor in my rhino and thats qualified as super stock. If you have a built motor there is no reason people should sign up for the super stock class.Speed racer stepped up and signed up for the mod class like he should have ,so if there's anybody out there hiding there motor mods,BE HONEST AND IT'S ONLY RACING!

Hobbie nice video!!

See you guys @ the next GRAND PRIX 2011
