dual battery set up

I have 2 batteries that im trying to hook up in my rhino. I have a dual battery switch that has an off position, batt 1, batt 2, and common. I know that the cable coming from the starter has to go to common. From batt 1 on the back of the switch I ran the cable to the little fuse block in front of the stock battery where the starter cable used to go. All I get is a buzzing noise and the starter spins but doesn't engage. I have wired tons of trucks like this with no problems. I'm out of Ideas on what to do. Any one have any suggestions?

this is how my car was wired...

I went to a dual battery relay system,

one battery is for starting & the other is for Acc.

when the key is turned in the on position, booth batteries are linked together.. .

Thanks for the info. I just figured out what I had done wrong. Both the ground and the starter cable come up into the battery compartment togeather and like an idiot I had them switched. I appreciate your reply and diagram
