BITD Class Vote on sequential 5 speeds

That's a Weller thing not to take advantage :) So what happens to the NA in the LOORRS series with the new turbos? Race together?

You seriously couldn't take 5 minutes to search before posting that question?

My son raced his bone stock RZR XP Turbo last Saturday night at LORORS to a 2nd place in the Unlimited class. He then race his XP 1000 to a win in Production 1000.

I guess you wouldn't know that though because the Underground doesn't go to the Regionals anymore.

He turned a faster lap times (.8 seconds) in the Production 1000 than he did the Turbo. The only difference between the two cars was the suspension set up, stock vs short course specific. Both motors are stock with Sparks Racing pipes and K&N airfilters.

In the main it didn't overheat btw.

Could I make the Turbo faster in stock form? Yes. Would it be insanely faster? No, not without hacking the ECU, and in desert racing that's against the rules .

IMO the only advantage the Turbo has over a NA is how it makes power, peak numbers don't mean as much to me since all that power is being delivered through a rubber band and with more hp comes more heat. Rubberbands dont like heat.

Everyone focusing all this attention on the Turbo is misplaced, the Yamaha with the 10,500 rev ceiling, manual transmission, and long travel suspension is most likely going to wipe out the field in the desert.

And Ill finish with this, Polaris never sits still, they will respond to the new Yamaha, and I cant wait to get my hands on one when they do.

CouldnWy, post: 183023, member: 25"]oh ok im not having steak tonight because your having hamburger ? fuck that im flying a fucking Kobe cow from Japan and flying it in a first class seat and im having steak ...

coming from the guy that raced a 100000.00 kawasaki teryx against a bunch of 30000.00 dollar rhinos that also hired one of the most bad ass winningest baja racers in the world to race with them .. your saying a person shouldnt take advantage of racing a turbo rzr against a bunch of turbo cam ams ?

The Majority of people where not willing to put the required effort into the task.

We never had a race car that you couldnt have. And it was a very slow 800. And I never said that you shouldn't be able to race turbo against turbo. I said you were racing a car that I couldn't purchase.[/QUOTE]

I know and im just give ya a hard time .. and if you really wanted a RZR Turbo you could have bought one .. it as always is a how far are you willing to go and how much are you willing to spend ..

No you didn't, and you're a tool. Guys like you make me wonder why I even want to get involved in desert racing.

Done.

I am at Ride Now as we type.I'm not looking at the XP.

I think UTV Inc was the ONLY company with enough resources to get a turbo race car built in Two weeks! I say props to them!!!

I agree Johnny does things right and can wheel a car. I dont have an issue with him at all. I just dont like the way the rules are made up as they go and allowing a 2016 vehicle racing in a 2015 rule book. My bazillion dollar Teryx was kept out of BITD by the same person many years ago.

Race them all... Let the desert sort them out... The top teams from this year will still have the best drivers, best crews and best equipment. Some hotshot will get in a podium here and there, but the top teams will still be the top teams. The Yami, Turbo, Linked, or whatever will always jump into the class. UTV Technology has not settled, that is why there are so many DNFs. This is going to be a crazy few years while UTV tech stabilizes...

I really like that line!

It is so true... Here is a video that shows perfectly, talent is the difference for PRO UTV. Me in a turbo, linked, sequential, whatever, will not win. I barely made it 300 yards before I ran out of talent. This is my first lap at Barstow in our RZR Turbo Mule. RZR 1 - Talent 0...

Good thing I have another driver... :) Can't wait for Parker. As long as it is made by the manufacturers, race what you brought.

Thanks for sharing video.

But that's all it takes to break a POS polaris?

Yeap, that's why I don't own one anymore.

Yamaha going to wipe the polaris teams out.

I can't say that Yami won't have an impact, but later in the day we really started beating on this rig and it held up well. This Turbo car is pretty well sorted. The race car will barely have anything from Polaris on it, but I like the new drive train. We will see...:D

Later in the day video with Kent at the wheel. A professional race car driver... :p

BTW, Kent was a factory Yamaha guy, BIKES, for years, so we are all fans. Might be a Yami in our future, but for now, Polaris is the way to go for us...

That's what I mean, polaris churns out absolute chit IMO... successful teams have to replace or upgrade everything. I've owned 3 polaris as consumer, constantly breaking. I'll never buy polaris anything again. I sold them and got turbo maverick... not much better. Both polaris and can am fans will say I'm full of crap... yea, I know. But they're all built for profit not quality.

So Yamaha has POTENTIALLY restored my faith as consumer. We'll see. At least they're finally in the game.

Nevertheless ... good luck on racing !! You guys have great attitude, wish you guys success !!!!

Thanks for the well wishes. Your point about the state of this class of vehicle is a good one. I think all of the manufacturers were definitely a mess from a racing perspective. Sucks that consumers also took a beating. Think about all of the companies that make parts to replace the weak stuff that came from the factory. In racing you have to replace just about everything to be safe and keep the car running during these insane race distances. It seems like all of the manufacturers are investing into the platforms and hopefully they will make better products. I can say that this Turbo car is better than our XP4 1000. It is just a better power plant and the front diff seems to be smarter. It is a lot flatter in the corners as well. Yami is going to press everyone. They are a hardcore engineering company and competitive as hell. They are making each other step up or be left in the dust. Literally... Let's hope this is a case of iron sharpens iron and we get a stable, hardcore platform in the very near future.

Hope you get a Yami soon so we call hear about it. Everyone is really curious... Can't wait to see one...
