Yamaha Belt question

sand shark

I have a 2007 Rhino it would do 54 - 58 MPH in the sand. I had the top end redone (new pistion, rings, sleeve). The motor is a 686 with cam, ported, etc...) For some reason I have lost top end speed I can only get to 45. I am think my belt might be slipping or need to be changed.

My question is would a belt cause a loss in top end speed?

YES IT CAN. IT COULD ALSO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE SHEAVE.

Yeah, that big of a change, sounds like a weight is in there crooked (in the primary sheave)..

Hey Noel!! What up? Sounds like your primary needs to be looked at. Still haven't traded up to a XP900 yet huh? ;)

See Noel, Its just like I told ya........Lol

Dave has a point.....XP9 would be the quick fix.

How are you Dave? No XP900 yet! If I can figure a way to shoehorn three of us in an XP then maybe.

Looks like I am taking apart the primary to see what is going on. I am hoping that is the problem.

Noel, the XP900 four seater is right around the corner,.......so, just sayn...:)

Thats what I have been hearing. I am not sure it will fit in my toyhauler. I guess I will start measuring once it comes out. Maybe convince the wife it times to get a bigger trailer too.
