Them China Indicators Lie.;)
Why am I not surprised that it was you who caught me with the counterfeit tools? Jim, you own a wealth of knowledge, and are "well rounded" too:D! Bought that bad boy at Harbor Freight, just to check the run out in the crank. Are you guys going to be able to do the 500 in a couple of weeks? I don't know if the racing sheriff told anyone, but due to circumstances beyond control, the only finishing positions available for this years 500, are from 2nd place down:cool:!!

So, to clear the air, the crank does not have .065" of run out. It's just where the dial was at when I positioned the indicator to the crank. Thankfully, the actual run out is only .0005" :). The damage was only to the clutch and the front and rear CVT enclosure. Still have gobs of work to accomplish before the race. Hope to see you there.

Reid, the front steer conversion is almost done. The part that is the focus in the last email I sent me, is being commandeered. I'm hoping to get "them" this week so I can take my Mav out on Sunday to test it out and then do the big reveal and really thank you for the help you've provided. And
there just might be a laptop charger in it for ya as well. That's if I knew what model it was....

Reid, I actually started in a machine shop at the ripe age of 18 as a button pusher on a CNC lathe, 15 years later I had moved all the way thru the ranks and into management....then moved on from the boring oil tool shop to Cognito....so that was the first thing I noticed in the photo. Those indicators In my opinion are only good for indicating in raw material in a chuck.

hmmmmmmm, the baja 500. There is a possibility we may show up.dont count us out yet

Come on Cognito fags...

Come race the Baja 500 with us. Woot...woot! :)

IMO this year's course is going to be fast, In/Out of town will suck (people and traps), Urapan will be tough and Camalu to Mike's is going to be tough...Valley T is going to be a nightmare for chase crews! Good luck to all the racers. I'll post up my race day plans and stick around to help any/all UTVs (after the TT wins)! Viva la Baja!

I hear Costco is having a "Baja Blowout" sale on 55 gallon drums! Better pick up 2, I'd hate to see you run out:(!!! A dip will not suffice, you'll need to marinade those bad boys:D!
Marc's heading out tomorrow for Baja. He's going to spend 5:eek:, yes five days and 4 nights finding places where he can go easy on you all. Your assignment has been handed out class, now go do your homework, and prepare for the lesson ahead! Ha hee whooeeeee!! I'll have 8 well done Schlomaris' to go please, and hold the juice!

C'mon Jim we already know you, the Cognito Clan and probably more Polaris teams who weren't going originally will be there ready to battle with us CanAm'ers. It's going to be an EPIC (sorry Joey) battle!

Most have forgotten the secret UTV prep tip that I gave altruistacaly some three years ago. Here goes; go to your industrial supply store and get two 55 gallon drums of WD40. Then you go to the farm supply store and get the double...not the single mind you...but the double horse watering trough. Dump the 110 gallons of WD40, secret magic elixir into the aforementioned toughs. Get a boom lift and gently lower your UTV into the special bath and let soak for no less than three days. We also recommend basting your Ute with a...well...baster and if you are good at it you will become a...wait for it....wait for it...a MASTER BASTER! I just want to share the tricks of the trade. :D

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:Sent these out today. Arms for sandblasting, and shocks to Fox, where they add their secret sauce. Pulling the motor tomorrow. Anyone else's car got the 11th hour blues? As always, I have no idea how I'm going to make it happen. Truth be told, I had no confidence what so ever in the car's preparedness at San Felipe, and the Mint. The IV 250 was not much different, and now comes the 500. I'm not good at this prep stuff, but learning fast! I hear a Benny Hill theme somewhere!:D (maybe I should lay off that secret sauce that makes ME tick!)
