NO F-TARDS ALLOWED - PIT BULL TIRES - Official UTV
What sizes do you want to see in a 30" Pit Bull tire and do you want a tire that is more like our ATV design or LT design? Do you like the Rocker or Growler design more? Do you want the same tread depth as our ATV tires (32/32 front and 36/32 rear)? Do you want the tires to be bias or radial? Currently our ATV/UTV tires are radial 8ply-rated. Weight is a factor, but our 30" if made as an 8ply-rated radial will most likely be 45 lbs. So reducing the tread depth and ply-rating and making the tire a bias may be the trick.

30" Radial with tread similar to the LT truck tire is what I'm looking for. 8ply. Would consider Bias ply also, but prefer radial. 45lbs may sound heavy, but that's still lighter than the BFGs.

I was looking at either BFGs or Toyo Open Country MTs for my UTV, but if Pitbull is going to do something, I'll wait...

Also, stiffer LT type tires tend to stay on non-beadlocked rims better I've heard, so that would sure save a lot of dollars not having to buy a bunch of beadlocks...

And you know my vote .... 30" x 14" and 30" x 15" LT Growler. Bias ply to keep it lighter. Not quite as stout as the current 31" LT Growler.

30" BFG KM2's are 41 lbs. radial.

You're right, I had 54lbs in my mind, but that was with a wheel I think..

You have more experience with a LT tire in rocks than I do, so you feel a bias ply would be just as good ridewise and rock crawling?

The big size makes the difference in the rocks. I love the 31" LT Growlers in a rock environment. Bringing them to KOH in case the course is tough, but they are pretty big for desert.

Weight is a big deal. My BFG KM2's took to much power, eventually took them off. Too much weight for the tie rod ends and steering rack.
I loved my Super ATV 30" dominators for slow speed crawling, they could'nt handle speeds over 30 mph, a lot of wobble.
They cant have to tight a tread pattern either. My KM2's were hard on axles with the rear diff always locked for sharp turns, the inside tire always chirped, they claimed a few axles.

Hope this helps.

What UTV did you have your KM2's on?

If we make the tire an LT tire, then it will have to be DOT rated...and that means more expensive tire.

If we make it with the Growler ATV/UTV pattern, then we don't have to worry about the DOT and we will be able to offer the tire at a cheaper price and less weight.

I think you would sell more for a 12" wheel. I would have to buy new wheels to run a 30" tire if built in something other than 12"....then it becomes to exPensive for me.

14" for me. I would even buy 15" wheels if it went that way, but not sure I'd like 12"...

If you can do 12 and 14...cool

I agree with the 12"wheel size. Lots of us out here with 12" wheels and don't want to have to buy a new set.

30x9.50x12 Growler 8 ply sidewall

As a rock crawler I like to have a lot of sidewall. Slap em on a set of beadlocks, air em down to nothin and let em wrap themselves around the rocks............

Not sure you're gonna wrap 8ply tires around any rocks like the bigger Ultra 4's do...not unless you put some concrete slabs in your bed... :D

More and more of the manufacturers are going to 14" wheels to accomodate bigger brake disks though. So having both 12 and 14 would be ideal...
