I am looking forward to it - look at the last race....it's in October. That gives us a nice off-season of Nov - whenever.....

Reno is beautiful. I lived there for 6 years when I was younger.....looking forward to that race, for sure!

I think they did good with this schedule. No mid-west or really far races, and the same number of weekends....changed it up a little. Two races in Cali..nice!!!

Working on budget, total cost for 2012 entrys, passes, diesel alone....$6431.40...cheap at twice the price....right?

Does not include, wear items on race car, race gas, new wrap, tires for trailer (cause I usually go through at least 5 a season  ) oil changes, engines, toilet paper, etc.

$10k easy.

Add in the new race trailer, bitchen Weller awning & pitmat, food, and Im glad the Pro Lite thing fell apart....kinda ;)

Edit, Couple of other small factoids, total mileage from Alpine, 5892, hours spent driving, 98.

Thanks Doug, now I can just multiply your figures by 2 and add in the additional family and crew costs so that should put me right around 50.

Thats 10mpg @ $4.50 per gallon and using 2011 LOORRS UTV entry & 1 driver, 1 mechanic, 1 spectator fee pricing, your prices may vary...

Joey, tell me how much WORCS entry is and I can give you a break down on racing that series. For giggles I halfway did the math on that one last night.

Thanks for putting these costs into perspective Doug! Count me out lol.

So I'm told they're merging the 2 classes next year. What are your thoughts on this?

I wonder who came up with the great idea to overlap two of the rounds with the torc schedule....

You know I have a longwinded opinion on all this but Im not sure this is the place. You guys want to hear it?

BTW WORCS from Alpine using my ealier criteria, $2490.00 but....that comes at a price.

10 races @ $40.00 4 people : $600.00

Total budget cost :$1300.00 not including gas and car maint and food.
Only 1 full year of racing. Thank you WORCS SERIES!
You will receive $200.00 in gift cards to rocky mountain atv through out the year.

$60? They just told me over the phone $40.

And the 10 race schedule is for the bikes, for four wheels its 8 races..

So the unlimited and sr1 class will be combined? I have a brand new xp built for loors! Who else is planning on running a unlimited utv? I may wan't to buy a sr1 or pro lite if no one else is showing up!

One thing that should be remembered about LOORRS is it's a higher profile series and it's easier to get sponsors for it. We went into debt up to our eyeballs the first year we raced CORR, because we paid for all of it ourselves. I was told in no uncertain terms (by a certain someone I live with - no names...lol) that if I wanted to race another year, I would have to find a sponsor/sponsors to pay for it. I did, and I did.

It also isn't a dead end series - if you have an interest in moving into another class (a TV class, for instance), there is plenty of potential from the UTV classes. If you want to drive off-road for a living, the potential is there. Also, don't forget, LOORRS pays back 5 places, too....most of this year I have won at least my entry fee back, if not gas money as well for the weekend. That definitely helps offset costs.

I'm thankful they didn't move the series to TX, or even farther back East, or WA.....Reno is do-able.

And you Cali folks have two local races now....nice! :)

WORCS is a good time....for sure....but the exposure just isn't there for my sponsors. I would have to foot that series by myself, pretty much. Having said that, I would love to make it to a few races in 2012 - here's hoping! :) I love that WORCS sticks to the Southwest for 2012, too.

Just happy we all have so many options......:)

Tyler, your best bet is to get ahold of Cory or Tony and see if you can get some up-to-date info on the class. It's difficult for anyone to plan on the new season if no one really knows what classes there will be. I talked to Cory at the last race, and at that time they were still looking at their options.
