2012 Arctic Car WILDCAT **VIDEO**

All I can say is Thank God for Helmets and 5pt. harnesses. I had (and occasionaly still have) a bad ass headache...my neck, which has always been tweeked was owie, and my traps took a big hit. Still in PT. <SHRUG>The bruses are gone.

No word on the fix for the front brakes. And there my ride sits, going on week four.

HEY! I just hijacked a thread! Whoo Hooo! Gimmme my scooby snacks. <SNICKER>
SORRY YOU HAD THE CRASH BUT I AM GLAD YOU ARE DOING BETTER.

How fast were you going when you crashed? Please elaborate on how the brakes caused it. Did you know the brakes were not working before you went riding? Just trying to understand the whole situation.

OK, two weeks prior to an event we were going to I was practicing what I call 'power stopping', which is going fast (not the 70 mph that the machine can easily reach, maybe 30-40ish)and stopping hard. I do this easily in my 800 at as fast as 50mph...So, it should be a simple task. I stopped, the rear end of the machine swung around at a 45+ degree angle and completely out of control. Not good. It did it numerous times, scarring the crap out of me, as I felt that this was definitely wong. I expect the machine to stop straight, and I am very capable of doing this task. So, I dropped it off at the local dealer. They claimed it would also do this when holding on to the stearing wheel, when not holding on to the searing wheel it would stop straight. Driver error.(like I'm going to let go of the wheel when stopping--NOT)

OK, so I took it and worked on handling and put the breaking issue aside for a while to ponder what I might do to correct the 'driver error' issue.

We went to the Jamboree and I entered my XP in the 900 class and my 800 in the ladies only class. The 900 class came first. I was also the first to go. I won the heat buttttt...I was going around 40+ mph, and at the end of the track, w/about 40 yards before the hay bales, I instinctively did a power stop. It did not work, the back end slipped around(the track was muddy), the machine ended up on two wheels, and from there..over on the left side. From there to ER, given drugs for the headache(nasty painful headache--and yes, I had a helmet on) and upper back injury (traps tightened up and still are).

When we went home, the XP went back to the shop. And they did find that the front brakes were not working, by stopping hard(lockiing it up) on asphalt--??? I asked if the machine was put up on the rack to prove this braking problem, and it was not.

So there my XP sits, in the shop..going on week 4. No word from Polaris yet. I know that my Dealer is doing the best they can to get this 'issue' taken care of.

I would love to have it back, and miss driving it. This braking issue needs to be resolved, like yesterday. <SIGH>So, that's the story. The 800 braking it true blue...the (or my) XP has issues(or can have issues)with braking, IMHO.

My machine is probably just a fluke. Polaris needs to find a way to fix it. I hear that the braking system is 40/60. I would like a 50/50, or a working 40/60...that I could deal with.
