What did you race before you raced a UTV?

I am curious about where you guys got your start in off roading. Did you race a bike, quad, car, truck, or anything before you raced UTV? Or was UTV where you got your racing start?

Did a little BMX as a kid, then moved on to MX then to standup jet skis, raced in 5 World Finals in Havasu. All that was when i was much younger and somewhat of an athlete. Now when i get the chance i codog in some of my buddies UTV's in the desert.

So Cal Motocross, then enduro/cross country, then quads, then class 12 (SCORE Lite), then class 1/2 1600 and finally....Pro UTV. 35 years+ in all of fun, fun, fun!

In the 1970's I raced class 1 and class 2. In the 80's and 90's etc.. Quad motocross and desert, class 1/2 1600, class 5, class 10, pro truck, trophy truck. I never was a driver on the trophy truck team just a chase guy. Started racing UTV's in 2005. 35+ years of desert racing

I raced motocross for 7 years before starting to race the UTV. Qualified for Lorettas but got hurt and didn't make it back there. I guess it is true , with age comes a cage !!

Used to race a 7s Toyota desert truck. Also raced an Odyssey / Stadium Lite for a while. Racing a SxS has bee more fun than either if them.

played on dirt bikes from mini bikes up, jumped to jet skis. 1st race at 40 yrs old was scooters (gopeds) for 5 yrs did it with my kids. too much fun but boy the get off hurt. started playing with utvs until paul hart gave me a ride in his rhino(scared the sh#t out of me) now race my rhino when I can afford it.

Chased the Martin Bros. Class 1 in the early 90's but they quit racing by 1994. I got back into desert racing many years later by prepping and then co-dawging a 7-2 in 2009-2010 with Palapaboy Racing. Shortly thereafter I got asked to help the Murray Boyz in the 1917 with prep/chasing/navigating and it's been fun (mostly) ever since.

I have rode motorcycles, atvs, and utvs ever since I could climb on. haha. But as far as racing, I mostly drag raced, and did a little dirt track. Here are some of the pics of my drag cars.








But started utv racing in 2012 season in UTVRR (Rally Raid). I am going to also share my first race video.

Mainly 5/1600 Baja Bugs, SCORE / "FRT (rip)" Still love Baja Bugs, but I swear I could go faster in my Old Race Rhino than my old Baja Bug, and my Bug was bitchen...UTVs are great race platforms.
