What you guys think best used 4x4 truck would be for all around. Towing, gas mileage and family wagon. Thinking of a F-350 diesel with 3-6 inch lift. Also possibly thinking excursion diesel as well.

My top choice is 2004 or older with 7.3L. I dont like chevy interiors because of how small they are

I have had a 02 7.3 F350, 07 Dodge Megacab 5.9 cummins and 07 GMC LMM Duramax and I like them all but the GMC is the best all around truck

My 99 F250 4x4 7.3 PSD. 230k miles runs like a top!!

I had a 01 F350 7.3 never had any problems I took it past 100,000mi.

Whatever you do stay away from the 6.0! Iv been through 6 turbos, inter cooler, egr, some over heating head gasket BS, and some injector problems. And I'm only at 60,000...

I have a 2000 7.3 f350 4x4 crew with 60k( very low miles) miles for sale it has lots of stuff, Rancho 4in lift ,pro comp xtreme 37 in tires,17 in steel wheels, AGR rock ram steer assist, banks turbo and exhaust, rear air bags with in cab control 5 gal tank, safari guard front winch bumper, reuhnel rear winch bumper rear locker 4.56 gears, cryo treated brake rotors, Mcniel fiberglass front fenders painted factory color matched. I had a RBP programer on it but when I took it in to get smogged the ford dealership fried the ECM and had to replace it with a new one, after that the RBP program wouldn't work because the code was different. It also has a ATS transmission built for towing but I have bought a 7.3 excursion and was planning on swapping tranny's.

7.3 super duty all the way!! I have had two 7.3 fords over the years I still talk to the guy I sold my 95' super duty7.3, He drives it to Cabo san lucas 3 times a year and still loves it. I only sold it because I needed the crew cab. If you buy one and you tow a heavy trailer figure about $3,500 to 4,000 for a good upgraded tranny and torque converter.
Im not just a FORD guy I also have two Chevy's at home.
btw 160K is nothing for the 7.3 I know someone that had 400K
Good Luck:D

I have had my 7.3 for almost 5 years now, I have put over 100,000 since I bought I it on it. The truck is solid as a rock.

Since I have had it I have replaced the following (mind you it has 230k on it now)

Torque Converter.
Brakes
Tires
Alternator
Shocks
Batteries

Some other small misc stuff

Still on OG tranny

This truck is one I plan to keep until it quits

After having just about every ford truck they made, my 2013 F450 DRW is the chit..... That thing pulls anything you can strap it to..
