im looking for racer opinion here on running a 28 or 30 inch tire for bitd... Ive been to a few bitd races recently and know that some guys would want to run bigger than that even but i know my pro utv xp 900 with minor engine mods (no big bore or anything) feels underpowered already compared to v8 trucks, would there be any benefit to running a 28? i know unsprung weight would be down... Im about to buy 12 tires as a start for racing at the end of this year and looking for some input. i do not yet have a tire sponsor as much as i would like one because everyone ive spoke to about sponsorship was a full season commitment which i get for now i will be buying. My xp is a 2 seat chassis, 12 gallon fuel cell, mostly 1 1/2 .120 dom nrg seats, stock width but modified for 16.5 travel front and rear. thanks

I would definitely look at what the top 10 of the class is running, and replicate that.

30" will give you more tire and ground clerance. I have a 900 as well and have ran both sizes. I agree with Cognito run the 30" ITP and youll be happy ! Whatever performance you might loose by the bigger tire you will make up in less downtime and flat repairs.
