Text Anywhere.....Baja Must Have!

I'm not one to promote something unless I feel strongly about it. These guys are not a sponsor and I paid full price for everything...like I do when I buy cool shit from Johnny so I'm not looking for free stuff but this was our lifeline in Baja in conditions that could cost you your life and it did for some. I would NEVER go back out there without it. I remember my first b1k and renting sat phones. What a joke! Nothing worse than thinking you have an ace in the hole and it turns out to be a dud. Text Anywhere allowed all our chase trucks to communicate with each other and the race car with them and vice versa. We had our own network. I even texted my gf in Houston who I know was tracking us and probably worried when we weren't moving......and she was. There was no walking out of that place safely and you just had to stay with the car and hope you were found. If you were off course broke your situation could be complicated. Granted Score has some type of tracking I guess it works idk we can't talk to it or receive information. Just look at blinking lights and pray it works....don't think so. They need to sell more of them to bring the cost down imo but whatever it's worth it.....ok back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The company is Baja Tracking....what important to know is David Clay. He's the guy easy to reach and very attentive to make sure your units work. The thing I like is this system is super reliable. It works and it works all the time not like some of the others.

The system work OK. We used it last year at the 1000, of the 3 chase trucks we had 1 unit worked. We used it this year at the mint and it worked well in one chase truck. We used it at the 500 this year and it was spotty in certain locations but worked good most the time. it would not link up to any of our apple devices. David is definitely easy to deal with and its getting better.

It's always worked for us. When it hasn't it's been user error like not turning it on. Has happened twice. Sometimes it's slow but it gets there I'd say average 10--20 min. The new interface is way better and we only use iPhones. ive heard cheese puff powder will mess up the electronics....:)

Seriously, we had one not turned on so only one worked but that's all you need in a pinch. You have to be close to the unit and you can't have anyone else connecting to your wifi or cancels out. Maybe one of your factory teams know that......possibly the same team that tried to snatch your car. Lol

They cant explain the Apple issue. We have I-pads in the truck specifically for this device. So once we all switched to our Android Cell phones they worked. Then when Johnnys team pulled up next to us At RM165 ours quit working. I dont know if one of their devices had wifi and it was pissing off our tracker...or if it was because it was 125 degrees out there. Once we got moving again and air started moving over the tracker it seemed to start to work again.

Trust me....our problems were not user error as we have been trying to use this system for several races.

Were you guys stopped at 165 for a while? It seemed like Johnny was a ways back from you. FWIW Larry Roeseler was impressed with you guys.

We didnt stop at 165, matlock was a few minutes behind us, johnny was a minute or so behind him, with jagged tailing 2 minutes back. Johnny had an extended pit, Im not sure how long because we had to go. We did have a few minute pit stop at 210ish near Borrango.

Nice, I didnt figure Guys Like Larry Roeseler payed much attention to golf carts!
