Not a big fan of protesting. I have been protested more times than I can count including last year's Baja 500, and 1000, and this years Baja 500 and they could not find anything wrong.
I was just asking the ? as to how can they run a car in a production class that is not yet a production car.
For the record I really do want them to race. I think it's good for the sport and the UTV industry as a whole. Any time there is more factory involvement with large names the sport benefits.
Wayne I totally agree with both statements you just made. Having to be the Police of your own class or series is not a good way to do things. I too have been in your shoes with regards to being questioned or inspected. On the same token if we are left to manage the rules of the class then sometimes a protest is warranted. I know some will think a guy who protest is a whiner or cry baby, and in many cases this appearance makes people not protest and do what's right.
I have some good ideas regarding tech that could make the class better, but some won't like it, because it would make the rules more clear and be more enforced by the series and tech director and not be left to the racers.
And you are 100% right with having more manufactures supporting the sport. Without competition there is no reason for companies like Polaris to stick around. Look at how many more tire companies have jumped into desert racing due to the UTV class and the competition. It's a good thing!
