That Deere sure does look pretty... Interested to see just how well they do, my grandpa wouldn't drive anything but a deere...

Nice build by Magnum! The suspension and fab work look good.Maybe you should have made it 4 wheel steering with that rear suspension set up.

Thanks Hans! We are actually in the design stages of a 4WS build now (for an upcoming event). In race trim she's actually pretty lightweight. Don't want to give exact numbers just yet as there are still some parts to add before she hits the track.

Haters, you guys just aren't ready to race a mower up a dune. It looks like a well thought machine. I am sure JD did their homework.

Rusty is right, John Deere spent over 3 years in development of this machine prior to the dealer show last Oct/Nov where it made it's first appearance to dealers. Spy photos have been surfacing for at least 2 or more years, showing the RSX in it's same form. So it's pretty clear that John Deere spent quite a bit of time developing and working on it.

I've driven the RSX and was quite surprised with how it handled. Ergonomically, I like it much better than a Teryx or Rhino. Performance-wise, it surprised many on how fast it could take off from a standing start and accelerate out of corners. The fact that John Deere jumped right to Fox Shocks for the upgrade Sports model and optional on the other models, tells that they weren't messing around. If you don't plan on going big, why put some of the best shocks in the industry on it? The Piaggio motor has some good things about it, dry sump oiling, closed loop EFI system and more.

I'm sure Joey will post up some current info on handling and his thoughts. And what Magnum did to the 2 race versions...awesome. This machine has potential. No, it's not meant to compete against a RZR XP900 or Wildcat, but in the utility SXS field, it will hold it's own against the others..

Haters be hatin'

The RSX is legit. It's quick but will certainly need some power upgrades to out run a RZR 800 or Kawi. Not many upgrades but some clutch and intake / exhaust would help. The deep throaty sound the WORCS car has with the Yoshinura exhaust is bad ass.

All we have done with the race vehicle at this point is drive up and down the street so I am really looking forward to putting the stockers through the paces today here in Moab.

Stay tuned for more from the trail!

FWIW Moab is super hot. But JD has rolled out the red carpet putting us up in one of the coolest resorts I have ever stayed in!

I guess the videos on youtube of the RSX outrunning the Teryx and RZR are doctored..LOL..oh wait, I saw that in person. Guess the Teryx and RZR drivers let the RSX driver get the jump...

Funny how each manufacturer finds a way to show their machines will outrun others..

Looking forward to your evaluation and info Joey..

Going by the seat of my pants I don't think it will OUTRUN those machines but it will hang and hold its own. It has lots of potential That's for sure.

Some initial thoughts.

Good styling
Needs better steering ratio
Good power
Smooth acceleration
Less than stellar braking
Fox sport shocks and suspension total overachiever. Works great.

Thanks Joey, sounds good.
What do you think of the "Tight-Belt" Technology on the drive belt?
