Snore wants to take UTV racing where BITD will not.

After talking with the President of snore racing this morning. I was asked to make a post stating these few things.

The next SNORE race is in october.
There will be 3 UTV classes Unlimited, Limited, Sportsman. Chassis requirements will be the same as current BITD standard.

Basically goes like this:
PRO Unlimited = big motor, turbo, supercharger class you are unlimited on powertrain.

PRO Limited= 1000 cc limit and no forced induction.

Sportsman= race for fun.

SPECIAL NOTE:: ALL UTV CLASSES TIRE LIMITATION IS 35" TALL TIRE.

Also stated is that there will be a 2000.00 Payout designated for UTV classes.

SNORE WANTS YOU TO RACE WITH THEM.

Wow.. pretty hard to not appreciate what Kenny and the SNORE guys are doing to encourage / entice UTV racers. Might have to go run this instead of the BWDC to shakedown the new race machine.

From Kenny Freeman of SNORE:

"I got a call from one of the top UTV engine builders at bitd and he is upset at bitd after the V2R race over the turbo rule . It seams that bitd has let turbos in the UTV class and that has made 90% of the current racers obsolete. It has turned into a real shit storm after the race and they were told "if you don't like it go race some where else".Well it seams that is just what they are going to do . Snore needs to make some rule modifications to accommodate all the racers in the UTV class . We can keep the current sportsman UTV and pro UTV but need to add a unlimited utv that you can add a turbo to. One other thing that the UTV guys would like to see is a tire size limit of 33in in pro and 35in in unlimited . I am going to add $2000 to the class in prize money and give sportsman UTV $300 pro utv $700 and overall Utv $1000. this move would take 50% of the UTV class from bitd ,that's 20 to 25 UTV's"

The current cars are not obsolete, yet. Once the turbo cars get sorted out, its game over.

I'm sorry that I missed the powwow after the drivers meeting the other day. Is it safe to say that the majority of pro racers want the turbo cars to move to unlimited?

I suggested over a year ago that the UTV racers should approach SNORE as you will race on much of the same courses as BITD, the entry's are much, much less and I know SNORE would offer the UTV classes incentives to race their series. It mostly fell on def ears and I was later told it would never happen as anyone with a Manufacture Support will race where the manufacture contract is paying you to race.

And with so many of the top teams having some sort of support. (How many teams does Polaris actually support?) I guarantee none of the sponsored teams will pull out of BITD for SNORE. So even with SNORE's generous offer it will not attract any of the top teams.

Cognito seems pretty pissed, so maybe they will be the pioneer team and go rouge, knowing they will have to most likely lose their manufacture support. But guys like Johnny, Jagged, Mark Barnett, Brandon Sims ect.. are not going to be willing to walk away from sponsorship support, and as long as that is the case their going to race were Polaris wants them too in "BITD".

This is the exact reason why SNORE needs to get the manufactures to support there series, if they can do that then the BITD class would probably empty out to SNORE or the MORE series. Or Hopefully BITD will finally take action on this big issue before its to late.

Plaster City! D38, District 38 desert racing wants UTV's as well. No they are not as big as BITD, SNORE, SCORE but the nice this is UTV gets its own day. Moto's on Saturday, UTV's on Sunday. No cars, trucks, or buggys. UTV is the premier class like at the UTVWC.

Its a good, inexpensive place to grow your program before heading to a larger series or a new team to get their feet wet. We left Laughing at 2am from the UTVWC to race their King of the Desert 100 race, took a 2nd, and made $35.00...(entry was $150.00, 2nd paid $185)

These guys are small but if someone were to organize, say a UTVWC series cough cough JoeyD, this could be a great place to do it.

Sorry for bombing the SNORE thread, move or delete if needed Joey

That's just it! These guys are not racing BITD and paying the high entry fee's because they like BITD or Casey. They are racing their as this is where Polaris is putting their sponsor dollars. This is where Can Am wants their racers to be. Sure you could go race SNORE and race for their payback only, but that is not going to cut it for the guys getting checks and or UTV's from the manufactures. And sure their are still allot of racers with no factory support, but those guys are racing BITD because they want to race 35-40 teams every race. You go to SNORE, even with all the incentives and you might get 10 UTV's?

If racers start racing and showing interest in SNORE then the OEMs would naturally pay more attention. But as it stands now, I don't foresee Polaris or Can-Am factory backing someone racing at SNORE solely. Not until there is legit competition there.

I have no interest in promoting any more races until you racers can get your shit together and decide on a set of rules.. until then, I'm out! lol

True but this 5 guys are not the majority and it appears that the manufactures are dictating the rules and where the sport should go.

Let the racing be just like every other class.

There are 70+ non factory supported racers in the bitd.
Why stay and deal with the crap in the bitd when you can go race against your peers on the same level.

BITD, SCORE, KOH, GNCC, Mud Nationals, and that one Lucas Regionals guy. If you look at which series are important to Polaris look at their racer page. Can Am doesn't have one so I cannot comment on them.

My advice is this, stay at BITD and work it out. This is the one series that is so important that Polaris is presenting sponsor for three races and a supporting sponsor in the rest.

Splintering off into other series will not solve the problem and may even hurt the class in the long run.

I think racing at SNORE is a great idea but I don't think a mass exodus of BITD is ever going to happen. Racers want to race against the best and they want to race where there is the most competition and exposure. I think it's great though that snore includes UTVs and I hope people take advantage of the interest snore is showing to our class!

SNORE is a great org and will get cars if guys want an alternative that is very well run and less costly with events like BAP and Rage.

Interesting that with this push, they chose to institute a tire rule that is outside the scope of the current rules for the class in the other orgs given they want to draw from the existing pool of racers...
