Side by Side ride quality-opinions welcome

I currently own a RZR 800 S-LE and as my family is growing, im looking to upgrade to a 4 seater (or downgrade-depending on how you look at it) Im am needing un-biased, first hand opinions on what to get. For my next purchase, i just want something that rides good, "like a cadilac" good. I love my RZR but im not brand loyal as ive owned something (whether a utv or atv) from just about every manufacturer. It doesn't have to be long travel, the fastest, or the cheapest-i just want a 4seater that rides good. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I've never ridden in any Rzr before so I can't comment on them, but lots of people love them. I have a 4 seat conversion 2009 Teryx with LTI's long travel that is pretty damn plush. I have also ridden in a 2012 Teryx4 that had LTI's long travel that was amazing with the extra wheel base compared to my T2.

I have ridden in a T4 and drove a Wildcat4. The Wildcat rides like a caddy and is about as long as a caddy. The T4 rides nice for stock, but no where near the ride of the Wildcat.

Really depends on what type of riding you do. If you are open desert and dune rider, then the T4 is not going to have the power you need or the ride. If you are a trail rider the T4 might fit the bill.

I'm out in east Ky so all my riding is trails. I have drove both a 2 seater wildcat and teryx but the WC wasn't stock and the teryx was an older model, way b4 the redesign. I had an AC prowler once and didn't have a good experience with it, and that's turned me off to Arctic cat altogether for the last few years, but it's hard to deny the ride of those WC's and it has me reconsidering....

I really like the commander max too-tho I've never drove one, just wondering how the noise and heat would be on a 4seater model compared to the 2 seater

do not buy a wildcat piece of junk, rides nice but rest of machine is junk. for trail riding I like the can am mav4 good torque. for open road cant get any better than the rzr4 1000

The T4 might be a good option for trail riding. It will not ride as smooth as the XP1000 4 or the Maverick Max. But the nice think is it shorter, has a ton of leg room in the back seats, you have a nice bed to put stuff, and it has plenty of power for trail riding. Plus the clutch set up on the T4 is ideal for trail riding.

Throw a long travel kit on a T4, if width is not an issue, and it would be an excellent trail machine.

Another option to look at is maybe a RZR900 four seater.

IF all you care about is the RIDE .... STOCK out of the block best is going to be wildcat.

That's kinda what I figured with that suspension setup and all that travel. I asked a guy a while who had both, a commander and a Mav, which one rode better, he said he liked his commander better all the way around. He said it was quieter, had less heat, and rode smoother than his Mav. I find that hard to believe myself but I've never drove a mavrick either

A few of guys in our group actually say opposite... they've all upgraded from commander to maverick (die hard Can Am guys). I've rode/drove them all ... and I'm not brand loyal at all... but I personally think Maverick is better ride vs Commander. I guess you know what they say about opinions. lol

My best advice is to test ride at dealer as many as you can... you may find that ride is important, but not only consideration... and that you have to look +/- of each machine and $$$ value and then decide.
