SCORE just opened registration for the 'Bud Light' San Felipe 250. They moved the race up this year so it will be January 22 - 25.

If you have ever wanted to get your feet wet racing in Baja this is the race to do it. Very easy to chase (only need to fuel once), easy drive from Arizona, Vegas or So Cal and it should have absolutely beautiful weather in January. Safe place, great food, and you can rent a house for cheap on the Sea of Cortez.

Post your questions up here and we will try and answer as best as we can. Let's try and get 25 - 30 UTV's at the season opener.

At the SCORE awards banquet (which were amazing) they announced a whole new media package for 2015. They are going to create a whole series of internet and tv shows (yes shows with an 's') to highlight teams, racers, races, etc through out the season. At the banquet, CBS Sports interviewed Marc Burnett and me each for nearly an hour each. This was for 'B-roll' footage for the upcoming season. Very cool! UTV's will not be one of 20+ classes vying for the spotlight. 'Powersports' (UTV's, ATV's and bikes) get our own show(s). Jim Ryan who was the publisher for Dirt Sports magazine is now the new Director of Marketing for SCORE and he is committed to UTV's because of our manufacturer support and good numbers. This will be a great way to get exposure for our class and our sponsors.

Horrible timing for a event, so many series have events on top of this date, AMA, BITD, KOH are all on top of this week, cant help but wonder how it pulls racers from various classes.

The Parker 250 is Jan 9-10 and KOH is Feb 4th. At KOH most will likely run different cars. We will make all three.

RB...they announced it at the drivers meeting at the 1000 and again at the SCORE Awards. I am guessing it was a financial dealeo, or Tecate doesn't want to be in 'motorsports' any more.

I asked a friend who lives in Baja, and he said other than the historical thing, it wasn't a big deal. He said most of his buddies drink Bud Light anyway and it is part of the Groupo Modelo.

Might be a good thing and bring more money into off road racing.

I think the drawing is on the 17th. So da crew needs to get signed up. More entries this year than last year so far, but need to see Congnito, Kiger, Cory, Murrays, Burnett, Lansky, Rock-Star girl, Simms, Bush, Team South, the rest of the LSR vatos, etc...nut up (or ovary up in terms of L.B. ) and come out and race a race that is actually OVER it's billed mileage (it will be 258 miles instead of the Parker 250 being something like 150 miles) and raced on legendary 'Baja' roads, all within sight of the beautiful Sea of Cortez. These are not graded roads, they are the stuff that made Malcolm Smith, Walker Evans and Ivan Stewart famous. If you do the math the cost per mile is very close to BITD racing and it is BAJA! Woot...woot!

I wish I could make it, San Felipe has always been my favorite race. I love the sand washes and wide open desert with all of the different line choices. In my opinion it is a true Baja racers course. Any body can pin it down a flat dirt road but it takes true skill and experience with a good setup to go fast in San Felipe.

San Flippy is one of the coolest races in our sport. Its one every racer ever considering doing Baja should take on before entering one of the bigger events like the 500 & 1000.

EVERY BODY MUST go read Kent Kroekers post of Race Dezert regarding his incident causing death in Mexico! It is not to scare people away from going to Mexico and racing but it's simply to inform you what documents will really help you if you're ever involved !!!!

OK to be clear.. The way Justin posted make it seems like Ken't incident caused death when in reality Kent SAVED lives because of an incident in Mexico that DID NOT involve his team.

You can read the link above but what happened in a nut shell is the TRAXXAS TT team of Mike Jenkins was pre-running through Ensenada the night or 2 before the 500 or 1000 and smashed head on with a car driven by american missionaries. Kroeker and his co-driver rolled up on scene and applied battlefield medical assistance and saved their lives. His story is heroic and inspiring. KK is a bad muther f'r and I am proud to call him my friend!
